senior friend

Last week, one of my senior friends died.

She was from the same city as mine.

Months ago after her colostomy, she had to carry a colostomy bag with her and then she had moved away to live with her son since then we only get to call each other for a couple of times and I always wanted to visit her but never did.

She is a typical Asian woman; bravery, perseverance, wisdom and independence, though she never got the chance to have educations; she never complained or want to bother others for help or anything.

Even right after the colostomy, I went to visit her in hospital, still she thanks God to spare her life and always never ever forget to pray for others.

She had an uneasy and tough childhood and a severe motorbike accident after married.

Knocking 急促沈重的敲門聲

The other night I heard a really loud banging at the door from the living room.
It really made me jump. It was about 4 sustained bangings.
I didn't even dare to open the door or peek from the peephole.
If that is someone whom we know, they will definitely call ahead of time before visiting, they won't just drop in like this, they won't come to visit us at night or knocking on the door like so!?

And I was puzzled that why my sons didn't react to this loud banging so I went and asked them individually since they were in different rooms, did you hear what I hear?

Neither of them heard it!?

Was I just experienced an auditory hallucination!?

But my point is, if that's the case that you hear someone rapping at your door loudly and continuously at night, what will you do?

According to my son that I should answer the door; what if someone is asking for help for some emergencies; like he/she is chasing by someone with a gun or a knife!?

sauna

Mom: It's so hot, be calm and pretend that we in the sauna room.

Son: Oh no, mom there is a big difference in between, one is Volunteering the other one is Forced.

Oh no, I'm not happy!

The other day I was talking about cooking with my coworker and I told her that I'm an easy pleased person; as long as there is food and the food is cooked then I'm happy.

Today I had a light dinner with my son at Aku Poke which are mainly serving raw fish so when we got home, my son asked me how was the good and told him, oh no, I'm not happy!

We all laughed.

Pray

Praying with tears, joy and thanksgiving.

Pray God to use the gifts from You at home, work, church and wherever we are. 

Young & Sweet

Weeks of continuing hot temperatures, some of the premature lemons fell from our tree.

Today I tried to squeeze them to make my usual lemon water and astonishingly found that it tasted a bit of sweetness.

I wonder is that why part of a song called dancing queen the lyrics going like, young and sweet, only seventeen, but as we grow older we become bitter and greedy well in this case grow into sour.

Frozen Fruits

Enjoy frozen fruits in this scorching hot summer day, this year I even tried freezing the whole watermelon and then cut it in half and eat it like shave ice with a spoon.

You can almost freeze every kind of fruits and you can eat them alone or make smoothies out of them.

To freeze fruits you can not only consume them to cool you down, you can also preserve them for later since I always buy them in bulk when they are on sale.

For couples of days high temperature it's sad to see some young leaves and fruits were burned dry outside our yard and not so surprising to see the weeds are fine with it.

Fanning

Years ago I was fanning my mom while she was asleep, today I was fanning my son while he was asleep.
