Day1 - 03172020

The first day of office closed.
Time to pick up my writing routine.

Going to be a full time stay home mom for at least two weeks.
Hope it won't take long before we can go back to our regular routine again.
Hope this Coronavirus will impact the societies the bad way as less as possible. And we will all learn something from it. Practice our hygiene, keeps the social distancing, be really careful, but not panic or hoarding the stores.
Maintain a healthy life, exercise physically and mentally and eat healthy.
Pray for the leaders, the medical teams and everyone else who make efforts for this difficult time.

Worship and Pray firmly become our daily routine. Pray anytime, anywhere and for everything to our Heavenly Father.
Do we should and can do leave the rest to the Lord.

Private Uber Day
Drove my older one to work.
Go shop at Aldi, and found that shoppers were already forming a long line to get in the store way before its open hour.
I bought something including one pack of ice cream for dinner, then wait in another long line to check out. The good thing was that the cashier worked fast as usual.
For a long time I always wonder why the cashiers at Aldi worked faster than other stores, is that because they all sit on the chairs while they work, they get paid more, they get better benefit, or is that they have a better system?

Got a full tank of gas.

Cook lunch, ate lunch.
Drove my young one to friend's house.
Browse around some stores before haeding home again.
Sprouts was crowded, I did not even want to walk in, turned around and drove home.
No wonder a lot of shelves are empty shortly after the store is open.

Weeded the garden.
Get some vegetables from the yard for dinner.

Since I change to this new job for two years I haven't take any vacation time not even a single sick leave.

Life

Life can be simple as 1-2-3.

Sometimes, you need to stay still or back down a bit, re-think, re-plan and re-adjust.

Psalm 131

A song of ascents. Of David.

My heart is not proud, Lord,
    my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me.
But I have calmed and quieted myself,
    I am like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child I am content.

Prayer meeting - Febrerary

A Bible verse to share.

James 1:19

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Around one month ago, one Friday something happened at work right before I'm getting ready to leave the office upset me. In my mind, I thought, ok, if anyone asks me, "how are you?", I'll answer that I had a terrible day, I'll complain and everything.
That Friday before fellowship we had dinner together at Bopomofo Cafe, Catherine showed up, she gave me a hug and asked me, "how are you?", I answered, "I'm fine". Inside my heart, I thought, well, maybe it's not that bad, at least it's Friday and I get to have dinner with family and brothers and sisters.

That was Friday and the next day was Saturday, me, Tabor and Toby, we went to see LA Zoo Lights. It started at 6 o'clock, we arrived at LA Zoo at around 5:30ish. And there were two long lines, one was for the people who already bought the tickets and were in line to get into the Zoo, the other one is for people to buy the tickets, like us. But we waited in the wrong line and didn't know until later. Therefore, we needed to wait in the line again to get the tickets to get into the Zoo.

I was so frustrated, a voice inside of me, "blame all the faults on your kids, moreover tell them that you are going to call off the light watching for tonight and never again".
And then I thought, wait a minute, I'm the one who wanted to come in the first place, they come only because of me. No, no, I better keep my mouth shut.
I kept praying to God for help until we finally got into the Zoo.

Let's all pray together. Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You. There are battles and temptations in our everyday lives, whether it's big or small, major or minor, Help us to make the right decision, say the right words, make the right move.

And we want to bring all our needs unto You, pray for the searching of student minister, pray for the student leader and advisor, for the renovation funding, for the our safety and health, for the Sunday school of the young couples, for the baptism class. You are our Protector, Healer, and Comforter. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen!

Gabriel, the guest speaker

Months ago, Gabriel came to our church to teach student Sunday school for a month. the past Sunday he came to our church again. When I saw him walking in the door, I was  like oh! No! I forgot what is his name. And then it was the prayer meeting, so I thought, I'll ask him to write down his name for me later, that way it'll easier for me to remember his name.

After the prayer meeting, I saw him put on the wireless microphone. His name is already printed in the weekly bulletin. Ha! Ha!

Friday fellowship dinner

To my fellowship,

For those who cannot make it for the dinner, do not worry, there is always next time.

I want to give thanks to our Heavenly Father and thanks for this particular fellowship. For every event that y'all spend time and energy to plan for us, for all the different ways people help out and those precious fellowship moments.

Remember to be kind to others, even if it is just a simple greeting or a word of thanks. It can make a big difference in their lives.

Prayer Meeting - November

Oh, and for the hike, I have something to say, I really appreciate that Jeremy who plan the whole thing.
The designed drivers, Paster Eddie, Paster Jacky and Jeffery, without you guys we won't be able to make it, for every time when I heard LA or downtown LA, literally, I jump.
James, who brought the lamps and headlight for the hike when I heard he said he prepared those for the hike in the parking lot, in my mind I thought who will and why do we need that for?

Thanks for the all the brothers and sisters that hike together, especially that day we made some wrong turns and such.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

3 weeks ago, our fellowship went to watch the Sunset at Elysian Park while we were hiking down the Angel's Point in the dark. This bible verse came into my mind once again.

About 24 years ago, one night I felt that I had to go for a walk for some fresh air, as soon as I went out the door, I regret, I was scared, it was dark, I was alone, and I was pregnant.

This bible verse popped up my mind and that comforted me.
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Back then I was not a believer or a church goer.

Let's pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You, Your word is powerful and You know us even before we were born, You know our every thought before we open our month.
Lord, please open our eyes so we can see You, open our ears so we hear You open our hearts so we can know You more. Lord, please help us to pray not just for our own needs, but pray for others' needs near and far, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen!

Let's quickly go through the prayer requests before we break down to small groups.

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You, thank You for being with all this time, Lord, please bless our following services, the ushers, the presider, the worship team, the speaker, our friends, brothers and sisters, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen!
