earpieces

I don’t really promote of using earpieces, often time, you heard me, as a mom, saying, “don’t use the earpieces, it’ll damage your hearing, take them off please.”

But lately, myself, start to use it a lot, at work, why?

Trying to block out all the noises around, though, I still, can, clearly, hear them all.

Therefore, if you just have to use it, please don’t turn the volume too high and don’t use it for too long.

After all, you need to communicate with people face to face.

Wonder what I am listening to? Worship songs and audio bible and classical music!

What you a social work, psychologist, doctor?

You be the judge.

The following is the conversation between A and One of the elderly resident after A pray for her after our rehabilitation center service.

One of the elderly resident:
I have urethritis, but they don't give me medicine.
A: you should ask them.
One of the elderly resident: nobody will care about us.
A: what color is your urine?
One of the elderly resident: I don't know, I wear adult diaper.
A: if you feel pain or burn when you pee, ask them for the medicine.
From my understanding, the staff been given her cranberry juice and she didn't even had a fever, I’m not a doctor, but I think that's the reason why they didn't give her medicine.

This conversation continue.................
A: do you have kids? Do they come to visit you?
One of the elderly resident: oh! Not really, they live far away and they are busy with their church service.
A: you should ask them to visit you once a week.
One of the elderly resident: this and that; such and such; well, maybe the daughter in law won't agree to do so.

That was when, I couldn't stand to continuing to listen to this infinity conversation, so, I left, without, saying goodbye, and then, I went alone to my regular visiting other residents and of course, I came back to this One of the elderly resident, to talk her a bit more and to say goodbye to her.

If you were a volunteer, what are you supposed to do? I’ve been serving in this community for years.

And I've seen, different kind of children of the residents in this facility and other facilities.

One of them came visited his mom for the first week and then decided to take his mom home and took care of her himself.

One, I truly don't know what's his concern, he sent his mom to this facility, not too far away from his home, but couples of cities away though.

Another one, move her dad from different city to the city where she live in, the only reason is, she wants be close to her dad.

audio equipment

A: one of the audio equipment, the wireless microphone system, I bought it out of my own pocket, I need it back.
C: oh, I see, I'll bring them to you next time.

C (call B): A told me, such and such, should I return the whole audio equipment (which are useless to me, and I just cannot wait to get rid of them since I have a small house/space) to him or just the one that he pay for it?
B: of course the whole audio equipment, yeah, he told me about it, after all, he is the one who in charge of it. And he spent a lot of efforts on purchasing the audio equipment.
C: oh, I see.
B: but he has never come on time for the service.

The reason why the audio equipment is with me, there's one time, A cannot make it for the service months ago, he had someone to send the audio equipment over, and I knew that we are going to have two brand new microphones with built-in speakers soon which are donated by my boss and also A is always late since one point, was it from the pastor left our team? I don't quite remember, do I care, no, not at all, but if you are a volunteer, please commit your time, energy and passion.

That's when, I told B, oh, since I live closer, I'll keep and carry this bulky audio equipment to the service from now on.

News, news, A came on time last service! What a team!

Worship songs

B: we are going to have a list of worship songs list, the worship leader get to pick 2 songs from the list and one or two songs of his or her choice every time.
C: oh, I see.

B: one of the elderly resident suggested twice before that we pick songs that are not so new so she can follow and sing along with.
C: oh, I see.

B: besides, actually, at the very beginning, I and pastor wanted to do so.
C: oh, I see.

C: how's our worship songs today?
One of the elderly resident: good, I can pretty much follow and sing along with all the songs that you guys pick.

(B email the rules, the song picking rules to us)
A: did you see the email from B, I’m the one who suggest it?
C: oh, I see.

(B is on vacation for months)
C (called): did you get to see the email of last time's worship songs that A pick, none of the three songs are from the list, did you guys decided to change the policy?
B: no, I thought one of songs is from the list, let me double check. He’s the one of the people that suggested it, he should follow the rules.
C: oh, I see.
B: wait a minute, you guys didn't follow the rules before.

C: I & D followed the rules since you announced.
