Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday, on the way to work, I saw people waiting in a very long line for something (must be turkey or ham) at HoneyBaked.

Today, while I was driving to work, hardly cars on the road, felt like that I can shot my eyes and drive.

Remembrance

There's a song called Remembrance, part of the lyrics, it goes,

You've been so so good to me
You've been so so good to me
Oh to think where I would be
If not for you
If not for you

Life is full adventures, life is full of surprises, life is full of ups and downs.

Sometimes you just cannot find someone or don't even want to talk to any human being at all.

The Lord Jesus is my friend, my counselor, my savior, my comforter, my healer, my stronghold, He is my everything.

If not for You, I don't know where I would be now.

Still

There is a particular song that I want to share with you. I'm going to read the lyrics to you first.

I want to say hat how lucky and precious and thankful that I have our God along with my personal life.

Years ago when my kids were still little, I decided to take them to some National Parks nearby, Channel Islands National Park, is on my list, it is in Southern California.

And it is an island, therefore, we have to take a boat trip to this national park.

Unfortunate that the day I pick was not a sunny day, it was cloudy and later it rained, the wave was bigger that the captain decided that we won't be able to landing the island.

During the voyage, my older son was too sea sick and he was lying on the deck fast asleep.
My younger son sat right beside me to my left, my left arm was clinging tightly on the guardrails with my right arm holding on him.
That's when this song, still, came into my mind, I sang it over and over again until finally the sea was calm.

Later one day when I heard this song again when someone was leading worship with this song at my fellowship retreat, I was tearing uncontrollably, then I realized, God was not not surrounded us securely on that boat trip day, He was telling me, I was forgiven at that very moment when I called upon His name.
For I felt guilty and blamed myself to put my young kids in danger on that boat trip.

God is my savior, I truly hope that is yours too!

P.S. Our boat was encircled with dolphins on the boat trip back to shore.

Still - Hillsong (lyric video) HD

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
Within your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God
Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

40 pounds banana

I bought one whole box of bananas, 40 pounds, for the fellowship thanksgiving dinner gathering.

Wonder how I get it home, 40 pounds, anyone?

At the store, I did ask for help from some handsome guy to lift it up onto the shopping cart.

And hoping that any workers will ask me, do I need help to transfer it into my car. No one kindly to ask me though.

So after checked out I transferred this 40 pounds giant into my car trunk effortlessly. I open the shopping cart which is near the push handle, feeling smart. Ha!

When I got home, of course I had my two strong helpers help me to get it inside the house, that’s wish all bananas will all ripe in time of our dinner gathering.

How much is the bananas, I got two different guesses from my kids, $20 and $12, both answers are pretty close, why? Because I have a $5 discount coupon, therefore, before the discount is almost $20 and after the discount is $14 something. Sweet!

But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Couple months ago, I thought that if I ever have chance to do the sharing at our fellowship’s thanksgiving dinner, I’ll have a surprise sharing, I’ll challenge myself by sharing in Cantonese. But when Belle invited and suggested me to share about the Live Oak Rehabilitation Center ministry, I had some changes, I’ll sharing in mandarin, and then a Cantonese song in the end.

I’m a first generation Christian, I’ve baptized for over 18 years, there are 2 things that I feel sorry for; if I was born in a Christian family and if I could have joined the ministry earlier, how wonderful there will be.

I joined the ministry since 2013, and learned everything from the scratch, by watching other coworkers; learn how to pray out loud for others, care for others initiative, leading worship and sharing. Unit 2014, I start to do so independent.

To me, this participation, is like go to school, a learning environment without pressures, free of charge, I’m not just learn a whole lot but also unexpected spiritual growth.

The truth is, right after the first partook, and I wanted to give up, not going back again. The residents there, mostly very old or very sick; won’t be able to take care of themselves. Feeling rather sorrow for them, even after the service this feeling still lingered around my mind. Somehow, I managed to force myself to go back the second, the third time, and then that’s when I noticed how those residents eagerly and happy when they see us. They encourage, bless and praise me plus the modeling and teaching from all the coworkers, my confidence and self-esteem built.

I from a person that the microphone afraid of (not the other way around, ha!), into a person that don’t know how to talk without a microphone.

Invite you to join our family, a family that full of God’s love, a family that willing to give love.

Let’s sing this Cantonese song together,

An Unreserved Love.
