ALDI - 6

Weeks ago, the promotion for strawberry, 79¢ per pound, it's a fairly good price, but the strawberries are giant, even my sons say, it looks scarily huge.

Here’s the brand and barcode of it.

I’ve searching to see, is this GMO (genetically modified organism) produce?

The result shows, there's no GMO strawberries, some say, it's mutant, and other says, it probably has ripening agents and fruit-expanders are added to the fertilizers.

Here are tips to distinguish them that I found from the web . Firstly, the shapes; normal strawberries are the shape of heart, while huge strawberries are usually of conic shapes. Secondly, the color of strawberries would not be evenly distributed; they would look green at the bottom and red at the top. Thirdly, the seeds on the surface of normal strawberries are golden, while the seeds of inferior ones are rather red. Lastly, if you break off or cut it, you will find them are white and empty in the middle, but ordinary strawberries are full. In addition, we can judge them by their tastes; the huge ones are tasteless.
