Be honest with you, many times, I thought about quitting teaching, I am a single mom, I work hard Monday through Friday and do the household chores on Saturday, why should I volunteer my time and energy and miss my own Sunday worship?
The rewards are when outside the classroom, your kids or the parents still recognize you and thank you, and for the kids and the parents can see God's Loves through each one of us.
And of course, the foods are provided here, especially the salad made by Ruth.
Years ago I was a helper and I learned the whole lot from the teacher and was inspired by her, so, for the helpers today, I am sure that you will be the great leaders/teachers one day and inspiring many others, kids and their parents.
Be active, be creative and be friends for your kids.

Figs
I got some figs from coworker, so I thought that I should
share some with my friends.
When the figs are almost gone, I felt kind of miss
those figs that I shared.
On Sunday, my friend shared some of the figs that she
got from her friend; one of my senior friends brought some more figs for me too.
I’m so blessed and appreciate the friendship from
them.
Also from my friend’s suggestion by frozen the figs,
it tastes great.
And since my kids don’t really like eating figs, so, I
make banana-fig-half &half ice cream so as to share the figs with them.
The ice cream tastes very good and it got some pretty
pink color from the figs, again, without adding any sugar of artificial
ingredients.
Next time I’ll try mango-fig-half & half ice
cream.

give thanks - thanksgiving 2015 - 1

Here’s a bake pancakes ingredient
to share, it is bake one, because I try not to pan fry as little as possible
and avoid the smoke from cooking and guarantee the success at the same time.
There is the pumpkin as one
of the ingredient, because it’s the seasonal food, most of all its delicious
and nutritious and this is one of the famous foods from my grandma and my mom
too. I truly love them and miss them a lot.
Bake Pancake ingredients
1 – 1/2 cups all purpose
flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 can of pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
2 eggs
Preheat
oven to 425 °F, Bake in the preheated oven until pancake is
brown on the edges and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 20
to 24 minutes.

meeting & random thoughts
To me family always come
first, so friends know me that no weekends, night or restaurant meeting for any
kind as possible.
I don’t really approve
meeting at restaurant, especially buffet, first it’s expensive and not healthy,
buffet is the worst, almost no one will abstinence
from eating too much, not mention about the quality of the foods.
At home or
park or church will do the job already and you can even add on more worship
time and pray time.

6-12-2015 sharing - from a lemon to lemonade
Can you tell what those are? They are lemons from my backyard. And
yes! Both of them are from the same tree. Why the one on the right is so
different looks from the other one?
Days ago, when I try to pick some lemons for myself and some for
friends, I spot this lemon, the distortion one, being crushed by two strong
branches from both side, left and right. I immediately rescue it, cut both
branches. I feel so sorry for it, it cannot
talk otherwise, you’ll probably hear it say, “Ouch! Ouch! Help me! Help
me!” I’m amazed at the same time about this particular one, still try hard
to grow and have the functions as a regular lemon.
I thought about same situation on human beings. There are people
either physically / mentally born with dysfunction or disabled due to sickness
or accident or by others’ who purposefully hurt them. Some may decide stop their lives
naturally or intentionally. Some grow up but with either physically or mentally
crooked. Amongst those, some choice to live miserably or even hurting others
without knowing it, others decide to end the wretched and start
to help others the like. I've read the book, “one more step”. And others’ testimonies,
so touching and happen in the reality.
Truly, we do have the choice about our own lives. Either you want
to live 24 hours miserable or joyful and helpful to others. But is that easy to
love a person? The answer is yes and no, depends on the situations.

the rescue station or club
What kind of church we have, Harmony, a country club
or a rescue station?
We always say, harmony is a must and we are here to
service the needs. Have you ever have this questions ponder in your heart?
"On a dangerous
seacoast where shipwrecks were frequent, a crude little rescue station was
built. The building was just a hut, and there was only one boat, but the few
devoted crewmen kept a constant watch over the sea. With no thought for
themselves, they went out day or night, tirelessly searching for any who might
need help. Many lives were saved by their devoted efforts.
After a while the station
became famous. Some of those who were saved, as well as others in the
surrounding area, wanted to become a part of the work. They gave time and money
for its support. New boats were bought, additional crews were trained, and the
station grew.
Some of the members became
unhappy that the building was so crude. They felt a larger, nicer place would
be more appropriate as the first refuge of those saved from the sea. So they
replaced the emergency cots with hospital beds and put better furniture in the
enlarged building.
Soon the station became a
popular gathering place for its members to discuss the work and to visit with
each other. They continued to remodel and decorate until the station more and
more took on the look and character of a club. Fewer members were interested in
going out on rescue missions, so they hired professional crews to do the work
on their behalf. The rescue motif still prevailed on the club emblems and
stationery, and there was a liturgical lifeboat in the room where the club held
its initiations.
One day a large ship was
wrecked off the coast, and the hired crews brought in many boatloads of cold,
wet, half-drowned people. They were dirty, bruised, and sick; and some had
black or yellow skin. The beautiful new club was terribly messed up, and so the
property committee immediately had a shower house built outside, where the
shipwreck victims could be cleaned up before coming inside. At the next meeting
there was a split in the club membership. Most of the members wanted to stop
the club’s rescue activities altogether, as being unpleasant and a hindrance to
the normal social life of the club. Some members insisted on keeping rescue as
their primary purpose and pointed out that, after all, they were still called a
rescue station. But those members were voted down and told that if they wanted
to save lives they could begin their own station down the coast somewhere.
As the years went by, the
new station gradually faced the same problems the other one had experienced.
It, too, became a club, and its rescue work became less and less of a priority.
The few members who remained dedicated to lifesaving began another station.
History continued to repeat itself; and if you visit that coast today you will
find a number of exclusive clubs along the shore. Shipwrecks are still frequent
in those waters, but most of the people drown."

performances - mom & son
Three events, including one
rehearsal and 2 performances in one day the other day, we all have wonderful
time.
That’s talk about it, all 3
of them no overlap and we even have enough time for travel in between and quick
lunch before we head to our next destination. I bring the simple lunch share
with my young one with 2 buy drinks (to show the support of the event) in the
car right in the parking lot.
I have an early rehearsal in
the morning then the young one has a performance at noon time, so he goes with
me for the rehearsal, awesome, right?
Then 4 o’clock, we all go and
meet my old one to a special Christmas program, “the best Christmas ever”, at
friend’s church. That is impressive. A show, in between with couples of
marvelous songs of the season, it’s a musical, drama, choir, and a full orchestra
performance.
Who say, the performance has
to be divide into age group, combine them make a lot more amusement.
They all may not be professional
yet, but they sure are the best. If you do have something to say, please say it
with a loving heart and tender words. Or you really cannot stand it, please
either simply walk away or create one yourself.

praise in the desert
Would you be able to praise the Lord when you are in big trouble?
Today’s the first time in a row, two of my clients cancel/change their orders,
and I feel like crying out and don’t want to go out or talk to anyone. But I
ask myself, do you want to sit and cry alone the rest of the day or life? Or
just simply give all the sorrows and burdens onto the Lord then enjoy all the
joyful moments that I deserve as a child of God.
I have events and services going on at the day and Friday and Sunday. At the beginning, I do decide to hide myself in just like before I did when I was in troubles.
I have a graduation ceremony and a luncheon followed at Tuesday. a
special Christmas program at the local library the same day night which I
almost forget, if I easily let sadness and worries and complains and self-pity
and all kind of negatives thoughts bury me or I never start my blog that's when
I am writing this blog makes me suddenly remember this fun family event. Then
I’ll miss this amuse time with my kids and many others, yes! Both of my kids
willing to go with me, And I win a prize which is hardly happen to me before.

Something is extraordinary for this week, the moment when all the
negative thoughts come pour onto me, this song, Praise in the Desert that we
are going have for worshiping for both Sunday and Friday come into my mind.
It’s the song and the Love that embraces me and comforts me at that instant.
Also couple days ago, I have a bad dream about I lost my handbag
again, as I recall right now, the feeling is wired. Again Lord has prepared my
heart of some distress.

Book of Lamentations
Book of Lamentations耶利米哀歌
A book of lamentations, good thing it’s only 5
chapters. Being sad or down its ok, but don’t take it too long to recover.
When I read this chapter, I feel the conflicting
inside of my heart. Who doesn’t want a perfect, miserable free life?
Unfortunately, that’s not the lives most of us encountered or encountering, and
a lot of time we never realized what happen to our past is the best teacher to
us. Stand up and learn from those mistakes.
Think about it, when our lives are really
flawless, we forgot something truly important. For example, the relationships,
between relatives, friends, co-worker, strangers around us, the Lord, are not
so crucial now, and always say later when I have time.
I used to run away from God, I thought I have
everything, I’m so proud of myself. I don’t need to waste my time to go to
church.
I like someone says that the church is the “HOSPITAL”.
It doesn’t mean when you in troubles or sick so you go to church, it also mean
that you could be the doctor or nurse or even a volunteer to help people heal
from the wound. God is the leader and the Bible is the Bible. Come to church
with brothers and sisters all together, that’s help each other.

one day trip - huntington library
The
other day, me and 4 other friends, we have a wonderful day trip to the Huntington
library. And we talk, walk, admire the nature and some arts, we also have the
brunch together. The brunch is delicate, kind of expensive though and it’s
worthy at the same time.
You
got to enjoy the life and treat yourself good, indulge yourself sometimes with something
special, a new pair of shoes, fancy dress, wonderful meal and so forth.
It’s
been sometime, I haven’t had the chance to really enjoy outdoor in this loving
daytime. Kids grow up; they don’t always want to go out with you. And yes! They
should have their own life too.

異想世界- 詹怡嘉
This is the TV show that I watched lately. At that
time, they divide the interview into 2 parts; I watched the second part which
starts with interviewing not the singing part. And later, I got chance to get
online to watch the whole interview.
youth parent meeting
Parenthood is never easy. Every single one is individual and
unique. Even between brothers and sisters, between twins, or even between your
own five fingers, each and everyone have their own personalities and functions.
The other day our church has a youth parent meeting which
is held periodically, so parents can know what’s going on their kids’ church
lives. Who are the pastors, the advisors, what do they do every time when they
are out of your sight.
And there’s a quite big issue about that one of the parent
suddenly found out that her kids are getting out the worship meeting earlier
without anyone to inform her and also her kids has some problems on getting
along with other kids. Parents and advisors give their own opinions and
thoughts and feedbacks and even provide some way trying to help.
Some of them are, “their kids also encountered the
problems before”, and that’s how some other parents try to think of a way to
help out.
There’s one advisor’s feedback really caught my
attention, “you don’t switch your second priority with the first priority,
otherwise, you’ll lose both of them in the end”, truly, the first priority is
your relationship with our Lord. Yes! Peer pressures always play a crucial role
on coming to church or not specially for young people. But it’s not all.
The advisors’ parents also speak out for their kids, “the
manpower is not that much, they volunteer their time and energy and everything trying
hard to take care of their younger brothers and sisters, and it’s tough”
“There’s something that we can do and there’s something
that we cannot do and there’s something that we all cannot do, only our Lord
can do.” This is the combination between son and father’s feedbacks, pretty
touched.
But in my own opinion, parents play the most important
roles on their own kids’ faith lives. They’re watching your faith lives. Show and
show use any way that you really concern about their church lives by talk to
them, encourage them to take part of the church activities, volunteer your time
to help out on their events, listen to your kids voices. Here what I meant
listen to your kids are not just by physically use your full ears to hear, also
observe with your own eyes, ears and hearts too.
No one or nowhere will or is the babysitters for your own
kids.

Wow! It’s been some time since last that I really get onto
the word/blog for writing and just for writing something not for a specific
purpose.
It is really a relief on that too.
I just cannot believe, it’s the holiday season again,
think about it, it’s almost another year going to pass. Good thing is we can
use words, photos, drawing, recording, videos or some other ways to save all
the special moments, good or bad.
Do you or do I have a New Year resolution at the
beginning of 2014? Have they all accomplished?
Actually we still have a little bit of more than a month of time to make
efforts on that, right? So let’s seize on that precious time and do it.

oops i did it again
Yes! I did it again!
I feel really bad. I had
another vomit due to the not so fresh food again. And this time my younger one
also has some of the food. Good thing is he is ok.
Oh! Lord! Please help me
learn the lesson. Be good with food storage, and don’t even risk taking it
again even I have to waste a lot of the food. Especially this time my younger
one has some too. And thanks again, I am ok and nothing happen to my younger.
Last night is truly
terrible, the vomit, the worries for both myself and my son.

easy? tough?
The other day my younger one seems
very tired than usual, so he goes to sleep couple of hours than his daily
schedule. I turn off the light, TV, computer and everything just be with him to
make sure everything is ok with him.
And the same day my older one has late
night class; he came home later than the routine. Oh! I just cannot help again
to wait until he’s home then going to sleep myself.
Take care of your love ones are an
easy or tough job? I know that I shouldn’t’ worry too much; I do pray a lot
though.
Yes! There’s always a lot of things
need to pray for.
