Matthew 19-23

First a joke to share with you.

陪老婆路過手機店,老婆看中 IPhone 6s Plus,

It is a jest to earn your laughter. But, truly, in our lives, in our relationships, can money buy everything? Are you willing to spend quality time with your love ones, with our Lord?

I bet for most of us, this is not the first time study the 4 gospels, do you still remember when is the first time that you learn them, or is there any new lights or understanding about the Gospel or particular chapter(s) or verse(s) that touch you this time?
I remember, the first time, I had the bible study on the 4 gospels with student fellowship, well, I’m not yet a Christian, new to U.S.A., no car, no much to do or place to go to, no knowing much people, with free dinner and free ride every Friday, so I went. Not quite remember much what's about the Gospel, do appreciate those advisers' efforts and kindness.

Using the song, come alive (dry bones), as a background music to pray and meditation together.

Do you want your kids, when they grow up, become merely an obeisance men or women? Or do you wish them be a grownup with their own thoughts, a fairy good judgement? Become a leader, a disciple?

The 4 gospels is a biography of Jesus, be like Him, not only be with Him but also be able to lead others to be with Him. Parables, miracles, everything Jesus did.
Jesus is not only flesh and bones, but He is also the Creator of all things.

Matthew  22:34-46

The Greatest Commandment 最大的誡命
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Whose Son Is the Messiah? 基督的身份
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?” “The son of David,” they replied.
43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says, 44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies
under your feet.”’
45 If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” 46 No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Loving is a choice, not a feeling.
But, biblical love is not passive. It is not something that occurs to us without our control or will. Biblical love is something we do. It is loving-kindness, merciful action that is both generous and continuous. Herein is the good news for Christian people. To love neighbor as oneself is to act toward the other as one would act toward those close to you. We treat the stranger as well as we treat those that we love emotionally.

How can Jesus be David's Lord yet at the same time David's son, younger in age yet superior in rank?
