Marriage

This is again a question from my son which a friend of him ask him.

Can a couple live together after the marriage license is issued or they have to wait until the wedding ceremony?

Here’s my answer after thinking very hard for a long time.

Not everybody plan to or afford to have a wedding ceremony, therefore, if you are not to have a wedding ceremony then officially you are a married couple.

But if you are going to have a wedding ceremony then you should wait until after the ceremony.

1 Timothy 2:11-15

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived; but the woman, being deceived, was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobermindedness.

11 女人應該安靜而又完全順服地學習。 12 我不准女人教導，或轄制男人；女人總要安靜。 13 因為先造的是亞當，後造的是夏娃； 14 不是亞當受了引誘，而是女人受了引誘，陷在過犯裡面。 15 然而女人要是常常存著信心、愛心、聖潔自律，在她生育的事上必定得救。

A question that my son asks me on those specific Bible verses.

Why is this strict restriction about women; to learn in silence with all subjection, not to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man?

This teaching and reminding from Paul to Timothy in letters, it may depend on what is the particular timeline, background, church or person or different situation. Or is it his own experience at that time? Or it is targeted at Timothy, his personality, his pastoring? This shouldn't be applied to all other as well at all time, that's what I thought the answer is, am I right or wrong? I have no clue.

should we prune the tree 1

This is a question that my son asked, weeks ago when we were on the way to church.

Well, how about you? What will be your answer?

For me, I agree, of course, otherwise, the tree will grow too tall or something. It’s also good for the tree itself.

And my son, obviously, not agree with that. Why do we make the decision for the tree, does it really need it, and even it won’t make noise, it doesn’t that it’s not hurting by that.

And sure enough that if you go on computer and Google, it shows all the reasons, how, why, and when to prune the tree. In realistic the answer is yes, but if a tree can talk, then, there will be definitely another story to tell, right?
