spinach dips

Spinach dips, this is a my own kind of dips recipe, with lot of chopped spinach and lots of goat cheese and lots of fine dice pepper jack cheese and sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, then mix them all well together and then just throw them in the oven until the cheese is melt. Eat with the regular chips that you prefer.

A Green June beetle in the bag and it’s alive!

 
This late morning I come to rescue it from behind our couch, as soon as I catch it, a spider run away. I can seem hear the spider says, “Argh! There goes my Bruner! (A word in my own dictionary stands for Breakfast plus Lunch plus Dinner).”

Actually, when I first catch it, it looks dead to us, motionless and I tell my son, feeling rather sad about it, because it looks live minutes ago before I try to grab it with a plastic bag. Then I joke with my son, say, “let me do the CPR for it, “yes! I real do something like it to it on its back, and then I say, “Maybe I should flip it over and do the right one, that’s when I find that it is alive again. Hooray!

At the same time my son goes on the internet to find this, “Cotinis mutabilis, also known as the fig eater beetle (also green fruit beetle or fig beetle and also June bug).” Problem solved! I am just asking my son to get some grass from the yard for this little one, and we happen to have 2 figs left over from a friend’s garden, so I we feed him with the fig and it eat.

This kind of beetles mostly found at eastern or south of United States.

This morning something funny happen. I go to the grocery store for some shopping before I go to the client. At the supermarket, there is a short communication occur between me and a couple while I’m checking out. They talk to me in Spanish, somehow I understand, only one sentence though, I don’t know why? It’s amusing.

Something like, “usted puede empujar el carro de compras a cabo.” I think, should be. This grocery store I haven’t gone for some time, they obviously make this change.

I especially like those quotes from some renowned people that at the beginning of every chapter.

sudden change

Yesterday, the weather change, just like that from a clear blue and sunny day in the morning to a gray raining day in the late afternoon.

Maybe I should find some weather books to study.

lightning & thunder

On Saturday we have the rehearsal for Sunday’s worshiping, it is a cloudy day with thunder & lightning at first. So before I go out, I tell my son, you don’t need to hurry depositing the check for its thunder & lighting outside, it’s not safe to do so. Then my son replies, “And you are going out, driving, it’s even more dangerous!”

But I have no choice and have to leave right away, otherwise I’ll late. I’m an on time person.

After me departing shortly and while I am driving, I encounter a huge lightning with a loud thunder followed. I am startled with tears in my eyes. Not because I’m scared, well, I’d admit, a little though, but rather feel motioned that I’m driving with my son’s concerns, and surly I know that, I am alone yet not alone, God is with me all the time.

Saturday, we all have a wonderful time and meals, weekend buffet, to me that’s mission impossible. And you do hear me right, it’s a weekend buffet. Which I’ll never go on weekend for buffet, because the price is the highest, No Way, José, not even the dinner buffet, is my choice.

Unless it's free, and yes, it is free; my older one buys us with his first official paycheck.

tambourine

This morning, our fellowship leads the worship. Right after our final rehearsal, the worship leader tell me to try to use the tambourine to go with our first worship song, which has a lively rhyme and very good to go with some movements. I answer, ok! I’ll try.

I was shock when the leader asks to do so, not because I’ve never done this before ever, but I do thinking about to buy one myself a tambourine not long ago, when I took my son to the music instrument store to buy him the saxophone. And I didn’t get to buy myself one though. Yesterday, when we went browse at the Toys "R" Us after the satisfy luner buffet, I even told myself that maybe, I can just buy toy tambourine for myself, again, you know what happen, I didn’t get to buy it.

For this morning I didn’t get any chance to practice and learn how to use it and I just do it. I must have practice tons of times in my dreams, maybe.

It truly amazes me, how God reads my mind every time, He knows I’m longing to try so.

Baked Rice Pudding 1

This is a dessert that I long to make, rice pudding.

1 cup cooked brown rice (I add a little bit more of it to make it solider.)
2 1/2 cups milk
3 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup raisins (I use red bean paste this time for that I happen to have some at hand.)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I didn’t usually use it.)
1/4 teaspoon salt (I didn’t usually use it.)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (It makes the pudding smells good)
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (I hardly use this, maybe I should try some other time.)

Yes! This is an online traffic school, why do I need it? I don’t know, you tell me.

Ok! All right! I’ve get a traffic ticket months ago.

I pay the fine including the traffic school fee and everything, so I’m doing the online school now, it’s a long way to go yet have to finish it within a specific deadline. Good thing now we can just go online school instead of go to the virtual school. It saves time and energy, but I don’t know about the money, maybe, it is too.

The whole class is divided into 11 chapters, there are questions after each chapter, either 5 or 10, dependence on the length of the chapter, I guess, should be.

The benefits about the online thing, is that I don’t need a fix schedule, it is only according to my personal schedule and timing, no need to rush. And it does enhance and update and clarify the knowledge of traffic laws at the same time.

santa monica beach

I’m blessed to go on a youth event, Santa Monica beach. But we don’t get to go to beach; instead, we go to the elder’s home for dinner. A dinner full of yummy foods, burgers, hot dogs, salads, fruits, desserts, drinks and much more, a lot of fun with younger crowds and nice talk with parents.

Something very remarkable is I get the delicious and healthy salad ingredient from the beautiful, kind, hospitality hostess.

The raw kale salad, here’s the ingredients. Kale, of course and lot of it, cucumbers, bell peppers(I use three different kinds of bell peppers, red, yellow and orange.), sliced almond, dried cranberries (I try mangos cues instead, it tastes good.) and the dressing. But for this dressing, I need to go to the supermarket to get the exact name of it, I don’t quite remember it. It looks and tastes really good.
 

In my mind or in my kids’ mind, the kale are not good for any receipt, the smell, the taste, bitter, maybe, especially the raw ones. And from this, it totally change the way we thought about the kale. We even take all the kale salad left over home and I will for sure to try it on myself shortly.

Image that you have a screw on your left hand and the bolt on your right, in ten seconds you screw the bolt in and out of the same screw. How many times of screw in & out that you can manage to have? I’m just kidding! That’s not my intention to ask you this question?

Tell me how do you feel? Silly! Why do you ask me this kind of question and do this? Do you feel bored with the precisely movement over and over again? Think about that that’s only in ten seconds. If you come and leave the church every Friday or Sunday, go to work, send kids to the school, do the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and the like, routinely day after day.

God has a special plan for each one of you. That’s not only thing or things that you can achieve in God’s eye. Don’t give up on God, don’t give up.

And picture yourself as one of the screw or bolt, separately, you cannot do anything, only when work together then something will be accomplished.  They can be simply as one of part of a table or chair or as complicated as a car, a plan or even a shuttle. Don’t look down on yourself, a small move can make a big different in you or others’ lives.

Jeroboam was the son of Nebat. He became the first king of the northern kingdom of Israel, after Israel had split away from Judah. Jeroboam followed pagan ways. To tell you the truth, at the beginning and even until toward almost end of the movie, I almost give up on it, and feel very confused about what’s the movie is trying to show the audiences?

There are two police detectives after rescue a famous singer then both be invited by this singer’s manage onto to a yacht vacation to Mexico.

Both of the, Larry and David, take their loving with to the vacation. David can never relax from his work, the relationship with his wife, Lori, is kind of tight by then because of it.

Lori feels trap but want more loving attention by his husband, David, she then go and talk to Kevin’s wife, Sue, and tell her about her concerns and worries about their marriage, Sue then tell Lori about Jesus and how He can give peace, and Lori states that she wants that. She then asks God come into her life and becomes saved while they pray together.

Then comes the parts that I totally don’t get it at first, David’s dream about how his wife and his cop friend and his wife, they three just disappear in the middle of nowhere. And this dream just repeated over and over again, like four or five times, every time the result is the same, they disappear, and kind of like in the left behind, they in front of him and left the clothes behind, in the first his dream, his wife disappear while he try to ignore her and take a nap.

Every time he tries to solve the mystery, every time he gets to know more about his relationship with Lori and how is he desperate to win her back, the memory also bring him back to the bible, he even try to accept Jesus, only because that he can get her back to him but in vain.

Loving and accept the Lord’s Grace into your life is superb but if your intention is not right, you still won’t be saved. In the last of David’s dream, he finally realized this, so yeah, happy ending in the end.

One thing that I have to mention is in every David’s dream, he almost die, but every time wake up by his wife, Lori’s calling him to get up in the morning. That’s how they two receive Jesus’ love altogether.

pediatrician

Two weeks ago, when I was reading the local news, a name pop up to me, shocking, that’s my sons’ pediatrician from 10-odd years ago.

He is being accused of Suspicion of Medicare fraud and illegal prescription drugs, charged with 53 counts. If he pleads guilty, he would jail for 34 years.

I feel so sad for him, from my memory then, he is a patient, kind, professional and willing to spend whole lot time to check up for your little ones and explain all you questions, especially for a worry mom like me. How and what happen to him, why is he doing those illegal things, it harms himself and his families at the same. Don’t he know more about the legal things than most of the people, don’t he own a lot more of money than most of people.

It’s really a shame, if he is 30-something 10 years ago, then he is 40-something now, and if he is guilty, and then he will be jailed for 34 years, and then that’ll be the end of his everything.

I should still pray for him, but don’t know what should I pray on, which particular one for him, maybe for his family?

coupon

Yesterday, we went grocery shopping for a particular supermarket, why? Certainly, there are some on sales going on and that’s for the things that I need at the same time.

I have a discount coupon for it too from the weekly store flyer too, $10 off for $100 or more. I was struggle with before leave the house, whether I should bring that coupon with me or not, because I hardly go grocery shopping at that high spend, over $100!? That’s not possible, so I decide leave that coupon behind.

But the thing is while I was shopping at supermarket, I cannot believe my eyes, so many more things that I need are on sale, I start grumbling inside my heart, woman! I should have that coupon with me, just for in case and what if I do spend more $100 than I’ll waste my $10 just like that.

Then it was for checking out, I was still a little unhappy and randomly pick one cashier to check out. right at that moment, right at the counter of that cashier, I spot the coupon right there, in front of me, so I immediately take off that coupon, I tell myself, just in case, I can use it.

You’ll probably know what happen next, yes! It’s time to pay the bill, and yes! It’s a little bit over $100 in total.

Thank God! And thank the people that whoever accidently purposely leaves that coupon there, at the right place and right timing for me. Otherwise, I’ll very upset on that for sure.

There're two friends of mine, we often just talk on the phone once in a while, hardly has any chance to meet each other in person.

Coincidentally, both of them called me yesterday, literally one after the other, for setting a day to go exercise together and of course for, ladies’ talk.

phone message retrieve

This morning, I have a miss call and voice message from a friend, when I notice it, I try to listen the message before I call her back, then I must touch some wrong button or do something not right, the message is deleted. I feel so bad, I already miss the call and I don’t want to call her first then tell her, sorry! I miss you call and also delete your message.

So I ask my little one to check for me to see if I can still retrieve the message, fortunately we can, but unfortunately, she didn’t even leave any message for me, all worries’ gone, ha! Ha

adam and eve

When cockroach meets apple, eek!  That’s my first response when I see it.

No wonder that God is so unhappy when He found that Adam & Eve are eating the forbidden fruit, apple, at the Garden of Eden.

Just kidding, that’s nothing to do with the scene that happens here.

But you were me, when you spot the cockroach is crawling around and eating the apple, what will you do?

Will you smash the apple with the hammer in order to kill the cockroach? Pick up the apple and throw it hard on the floor, with the same reason? Let it go?

What do I do? Oh! Yeah! I think and think what and how can I do to catch that guy alive and then kill it without damage or dirt the apple.

I quickly and silently go to the kitchen, grab a grocery shopping bag, come back to the cockroach and apple, and then cover and snatch them altogether swiftly, well, kind of segregate and then separate them and finally kill the cockroach. And of course dump it into the trash can.

And yeah! I wash the apple hard and peel the skin deep and discard part of the apple away, I ate it.
