popcorn prayer

I heard people use the term of, popcorn prayer, I can image it vivid. And I truly consent this thought.

Have you ever eaten popcorn? I believe, most of the people do, unless you are allergy to it, right?

How about have you ever pop the popcorn or watching others pop the popcorn?

Can someone tell me, what makes the popcorn pop?

Here’s the answer that I google from the web:

Popcorn is a special kind of corn. Of all the types of corn, popcorn is the only variety that pops. Inside each kernel of popcorn is a tiny droplet of water surrounded by a hard shell, called a hull. As the popcorn is heated, the water turns into steam, which builds pressure inside the kernel.

So, then it pops.

Note that popcorn is a unique type of corn that can be pop, just like us, we are God’s chosen people, we have the privilege to pray and we know how to too.

Whenever, we have the need and moved by the Holy Spirit, we pray for ourselves or for others in need.

When in the prayer meeting, there’s no rule says, who get to pray first or second or third and so on, or you have to pray short or long. But I’ll say, I prefer, a not too long prayer, just like the popping corn, pops here and there, and pop, pop, pop, beautifully, it goes.

Prayer can be a praise to our LORD, a repent to HIM, a burden to let go, a lesson to learn, a joy to share, a hurt to be healed, a request to make.

Let use this song, Come Alive, as a background music to pray freely.

You can either sing along softly, or simply have the Holy Spirit to lead you for praying.

I’m not real a fan of batman or superman or any comic book. I just go with my younger son. But do want to know who wins the battle. And I almost fall asleep during the movie, shame on me.

And the batman, looks like a fatman to me, oops, typo, ha.

In the end, superman die, but there’s a hint that he’ll come alive again, well, isn’t that all the famous movie do.

I do enjoy the soundtrack of the movie, without the dub in background music, the movie is nothing.

Only one thing, regrettably, a small group of teens that sat next to us, talked a lot during the movie, joking loudly, even in the end when superman die. I understand that that just the movie, but you still can joke around without grieve, that’s weird and I real feel sorry for them. Also you won’t believe that they brought whole lot of outside snacks and left all the trash behind on the floor.

Baked Pumpkin Pancakes

Pancake ingredients

·         1 – 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

·         4 teaspoons baking powder

·         1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

·         2 tablespoons brown sugar
·         1/2 cup quick cooking oats
·         1 cup of homemade pumpkin puree with skin on

·         3/4 cup milk

·         1/4 cup butter

·         2 eggs

Syrup ingredients

·         1 cup of homemade pumpkin puree with skin on

·         1/4 cup brown sugar

·         1/4 cup butter

Directions

·         Heat oven to 350°F and coat 9 X 13 glass or metal pan with butter.

·         In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, mix real well, and then add in the eggs and other wet ingredients one by one until smooth.

·         Pour pumpkin mixture into large bowl with flour mixture. Stir until flour is completely integrated into the batter. Pour batter into 9 X 13 pan.

·         Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Using a fork, poke holes over the entire surface of the pancake. Cool on cooling rack.

·         While pancake is cooling, combine, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and butter in a sauce pan.

·         Stir over medium low heat until comes to a gentle boil.

·         Remove from heat and pour over pancake. Cut into squares and serve immediately.

I’m not much a fan of Saint Patrick’s Day, the only thing I do for that particular day each year is, wearing something green. Or you get pinch, oh! Well no one is really care in our company.

And luckily, our front lawn is green, the tree’s green, even our trash can is green too, for that day is our trash day, so the green trash can is out on the curb.

At first, I truly don’t understand, why is called, Good Friday, when someone, innocent, is crucified for the people who are not even related to Him. How good is that, why not, Bad Friday or terrified Friday?

Like mother like sons, I love ice cream, I just cannot resist it, even in my condition now, I shouldn’t eat anything that is too cold for my bronchus.

20 years ago, when I was pregnant with my older son, one time when went grocery shopping, I brought spoon with me, and right after the checkout stand, inside the car, I start to eat the ice cream.

Once in a while, I buy ice cream in my sons’ request. I tell myself, oh! Well, I’ll just eat with them, besides the cough, it’s really fun to eat with them.

This time, we decide to divide the ice cream into 3 equal portion, for in the past, it always happen, I’m the one who eat the least, and it’s not fair, right? So that’s my resolution.

what a day!

Weekend grocery shopping, firstly, I really don’t like to go on weekend, big crowd of people, I prefer shop with ease.

Oh! Well, there’s a benefit, my kids can go with me, with bodyguards and helpers, why not?

A lot things happened that day too, first I drop an apple while I picking some good ones to buy.

Mom! Look! You ruin the apple, as he pick up the apple from floor in my command, therefore, I decide to buy that particular one.

When we got home to get all grocery home from car, I took the bag with the dozen eggs, it’s too delicate to have the kid to carry it. And, I, drop it, first time in my life, in my mind, I thought, should be OK!? With the egg carton’s protecting. While I announce this bad news inside the house, my older son, drop one box of blackberry, and whole bag of apples drop on the floor when my younger son trying to help to put them into the fridge.

Now, we are equal, ha!

You probably eager to know, what about the eggs, 7 out of 12 eggs broke, either crack or broke horizontally or vertically, yah! There’s one like it.

Trying very hard to rescue as much eggs as possible, put the good ones to the fridge, and the rest went to my only orchid. Hooray! Says the orchid.

6:18 pm, no kidding, it rains again.

廣東俗語：「貴人出門招風雨」

A Cantonese saying, it is not like literally, or physically, it rained, when a special person come. Meaning important person comes with some unusual things happen.

But seriously, that day in the early morning, right after drop my son to school, when I got home, right at the time, when I about to open the car door, it rains, along with big wind and thunder and lightning, so I wait in the car for minutes before heading home.

And then almost 12 hours later, when we all in the car to get some take out for dinner, it rained again. No kidding, in between that 12 hours, no rain.

I heard this saying from my grandma, and you know what happen then.

A new supermarket, Sprouts’ grand opening ad says, one of the special promotion, for the first 200 customers, get a 20% off discount for the grand opening day and the store open at 7:00 am.

When I read it, the thoughts come into my mind are, who in the world will go grocery shopping at 7:00 am and 200 people will get the discount, mind I just go when I’m ready.

That day after I drop my son to school, it’s 15 minutes before 7 o’clock, so I tell myself, oh! Well, just go for the grand opening now than go out again later the day.

So I went, park the car, and I thought, I’ll just wait in the car until 7 o’clock, that won’t be that much people there.

And to my surprise, when it was time, I walked out the car, and I saw, people waiting in line, and guess what, I got #183 of the discount card, wow!

After my kids came home from school individually, I ask them separately, to guess what number that I got for the discount card, they answers are the same, #201. Ha! Funny!

Overall, I’m happy about the shopping and courtesy discount. But just hate about shopping with huge crowd of people. It took me a little more than an hour to finish this shopping.

I might go again for the Saturday & Sunday, for they have more promotions on that 2 days.

Promotion, discount are all good, only hope the good stores will last for long time.
