broad bean!
When I saw them in the market, I truly have no idea what is this,
and how do I cook or eat them, “then you shouldn’t buy it”, says my son.
I was so glad that in the end, I bought these fava beans and when I
open the pods, I was shocked by how the inside looks like; it has a think cushion
for the beans, that’s how tiny are those beans compare with the size of the whole
pod, the proportion.
Seriously, if you try to touch the inside of the pod, it feels just
like the softest cushion that you can ever get.
It also is the first time ever that I get to eat the broad beans
fresh.
It tastes really good, especially, cook with some meat; it absorbs
the juice from the meat.

Creativity
An idea comes from salsa, I have store bought garden salad (as base) + mangos + tomatoes + green seedless grapes (cut into halves) + dried pitted dates + pepper jack + homemade dressing.
Homemade dressing = olive oil + plain yogurt + honey, put them all in a clean, dry glass bottle, cover it tightly, shake vigorously to mix them up smoothly.
Why creative? There's no fix ingredients, so, be creative, make it colorful, it's delicious, and nutritious.
Why dried dates? It's a healthy snack that my kids don't really like it, especially if you want them to eat it alone, therefore, I cut them into small pieces before throwing them into with the rest of the ingredients, not secretly this time, they all knew it and accept It.
Why pepper jack? Add proteins and some light spice to it.
The same concept applies to smoothies, if you like it creamy, then banana and yogurt is a must; if you like it has beautiful color and good smells, don't forget the strawberries, the rest of the ingredients are in your hands, try to add different color of fruits, blueberries will add a blueish purple color to it, have an experimental fun.
Lastly, add some lemon juice for your salad or smoothie to preserve the color in a natural way and less the sweetness at the same time.
P.S.
No offense to anyone or anything, I often joke with my kids about the dried pitted dates, I say it is the yummy sweetened organic cockroach. Ha-ha!

stew lamb leg
Before, Lamb is what my kids enjoy but not me.
And now I find a way to cook it so that the special smell of it won’t be so strong, I enjoy it also.
And now I find a way to cook it so that the special smell of it won’t be so strong, I enjoy it also.
I have lots of different kinds of spices to add onto,
cooking with the lamb; cumin, red pepper powder (spice it up), paprika (to add
the color and the flavor), dry dill (try to use what I have in hand), garlic,
ginger, green onion also some vegetable; onion, celery, potato and the like.
Lamb meat is so tender; lamb legs have the same
tenderness, so I stop buying the rib to save the budget.Monday, August 25, 2014
brownie, tomato eggs, onion eggs
Brownie, tomato eggs, onion
eggs, those are the food that I’m so enjoy lately. They are all homemade by my
kids. Yum! Yum!
Although the brownie, they
use the ready to use brownie powders but with all the love and anticipation, it
makes them a lot fonder.
Also for the brownie, they
accidentally set the temperature too high at the first, 375°F instead of 325°F
as the manual says. Surprisingly that makes the brownie, crispy outside and
moist inside.
I just cannot wait to go
home and eat more. Oh! Yes! Not too much!
