Day15 - 03312020

The office has been closed for two weeks now, expecting another month at least.

Essential workers should have the priority to get the Coronavirus tests.

Wandering on green pasture in my backyard, is my daily routine now, though most of them are weeds.

End of March, still feeling cold, where is the spring?

Day14 - 03302020

Many touching and heartbreaking life stories.

"BREAKING: Gov. Gavin Newsom called on health care workers to participate in a new initiative intended to help meet a possible surge in COVID-19 patients in the coming weeks."

"Doctors, nurses, EMTs and others who are currently not practicing, as well as students nearing graduation, can sign up. Those who qualify will be paid and given malpractice insurance coverage."

"Arkansas Doctor
Just days before the tornado destroyed their home, a photo showing Dr. Jared Burks and his 1-year-old son kneeling on opposite sides of a glass door and touching palms went viral.
Burks has been living apart from his wife and son for more than two weeks to protect them while he treats patients who have contracted the coronavirus, so he couldn't physically hold the child."

Day13 - 03292020 Sunday

https://www.facebook.com/alice.chen.10048379

The third stay home Sunday.
I was scheduled to lead the prayer meeting originally, but because church decide to keep the size of the people who come and serve as minimum as possible at this moment.

Enjoy staying out in the yard, listening to the birds chirping, watching squirrels running, walking around on the green grass the sunbathing and taking pictures.

Bedroom, bathroom, restroom, kitchen, backyard and supermarket, these are the only places I go.

Posting Facebook, writing Blog, reading email, cooking and grocery shopping, my daily routine.

"The United States will extend its set of social distancing guidelines until April 30, President Trump said in a coronavirus news briefing at the White House on Sunday."
"As of Sunday evening there are more than 137,000 cases of coronavirus in the United States. At least 2,400 people have died."

Thank you for the people who donate their money, energy, smile, encouragement and anything in between for the needed.

Don't remember when was the last time that I fold the clothes, now I am doing it again.
No more excuses, I guess. And I hope all this yard work, cleaning and such, all count as exercise, most of all burn the whole lot of calories.

Prayer meeting - March

Subbed for good, less people gather as possible!
Originally, I was the one who leading the prayer meeting on 29 March, 2020.
Thank pastor's consideration, I'll do a writing prayer.

Good morning everybody! Maybe you are right on time for this Livestream or you are watching the video while eating lunch or dinner. HarvestLA welcomes you all to join our prayer meeting.

I don't know if you were worried or scare about this CoronavirusMe? I am. Very!
Start from two months ago, after work I go home directly unless go for the necessary grocery shopping. One month ago, we stopped go eat out as that was our family's Saturday ritual. Then our church announced stopped all church gatherings, including the Friday fellowship and Sunday services. And then our company also announced to closed for at least two weeks couples days later.

No matter you are a church goer, or you haven't come to church for some time, or you used to come to church, or you never come to church, let us all pray and worship together.

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You, thank You for giving us your only son, Jesus, to die for us, so every individual of us is the priest, holy temple, prayer warrior and church. We pray for everyone's safe and healthy.

Pray for the essential workers, first responders, hey are risking their lives for us, the doctors, nurses, healthcare, therapists, the people who work hard to keep the environment safe and clean and their families. Pray to have enough vital medical supplies; masks, gloves, and other protective gear and respirator.
For the police, the firefighters, paramedic. For the supermarket and restaurant workers, farmers, truck drivers, residential and commercial real estate workers.
The teachers, they either work from the office or home to keep students' continuing learning.
For the internet provider, so we still can connect to each via the media.
For people working at the repair shop and airport. Tfor the K-Love radio station
For the leaders. Pray for the comfort for who lost their love ones, for the people who are sick
Pray for the people impact financially or daily or any kind.

Pray for the following Sunday service.

The Afters - I Will Fear No More

Day12 - 03282020

Do take out today, I need a break.
Sometimes it feels like I am going to go crazy.
Only the worshipping and praying can comfort me.

Electronic devices need to be recharged every day now

Would people die before running out of food, water, toilet paper and so on!?

There are more people wear mask and gloves when they go out.

Miss dearly the people who gave me plants to grow.

Working on tending the bird of paradise for days, it looks different. I have been thinking about doing forever!

Day11 - 03272020

Made 韭菜餅 instead of 韭菜盒子, too lazy.

Must use the scarf as the mask to protect me from the dust when I am working in the yard.

When you see people wait in line before the supermarket is open, then all the empty shelves, it feels the end of the world.

Went to Aldi around the same as last time, no eggs can be found!
Young couples shop together, old couples, husband waited in the car while the wife went in to shop.
Wear two layers of clothes purposely, when come home after grocery shopping, leave the outer clothes outside under the sun for the whole day.

Spend less money, but the utility bill hike.

Got the public health alter, ordered Californians stay at home except for leaving for essential needs through April 19, 2020 and is subject to extension.
Therefore, our office will be closed for another three weeks.

Didn't join zoom for fellowship meeting, I prefer seeing and talking to people in person.

Originally, I was assigned to lead this Sunday prayer meeting (online), but due to the safety, our pastoral office decided to minimize the people count, so, I get to take a break this time.

Day10 - 03262020

Matt Maher - Alive & Breathing feat. Elle Limebear
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gYUJjsgd96k

The tenth days of self-quarantine, I don't miss the work day, but miss talking to people.

Will our office reopen by next Monday!?

Thank God that we all work or school locally.

No need to live in dorms or travel.

Got a flat tire today, upset, fixed, $15.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5hyefo5DXLE

I might forget how to talk after this self-quarantine, but will never forget how to sing, pray and write.
And my house will be tidier for sure inside and out.

Day9 - 03252020

Colton Dixon -- You Are

If only I don't need to worry about to make ends meet.

From the social media looks like lots of the people now spend more time to stay home with family and preparing their own meals.

The earth also gets  a big rest from the pollution.

Never thought about there's one day I am counting the toilet paper as day goes by.

Something that you probably will never get to use or wear it for another, let's say 100 years.
But still struggle to throw them or donate them.

The best thing happens when you do the cleaning, is when you encounter with the old pictures of the family. What precious memories! Where have all these time gone?

Never leave a room empty handed. One of the strategic to keep your room clean that I heard from a friend years ago that he heard from his uncle when he was little.

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Day8 - 03242020

I hope that I am right, today is Tuesday!?
Made pumpkin pancake for someone doesn't like pumpkin.

Recalled: Near the end of 2019 till the beginning of 2020:

Once upon a time...
1). My dad had fever, I took him to the doctor and then I had a fever.
2). My younger one had fever plus diarrhea.
3). My older one had diarrhea, forget did he also had a fever.
4). And then I got sick again
The end.
Pray for safety and health.

Continue cleaning up indoor and outdoor.
Stop beng lazy.

Always want to pray, sing and listen to worship songs during working hours, now I am, except I am not in the office.

Should I be happy or sad due to my laziness of the past, so I can have unending cleaning to do now, no time to depress or panic.

Miss all my dear relatives and friends that pass away, but glad that they were not here to experience this century disaster.

Day7 - 03232020

First Monday I am not feeling Blue but Green!
Soybean pancakes today, the reason why I made this is because someone dislike my homemade soy milk.
Tomorrow we will have pumpkin pancakes.
Plant pumpkin and California poppy today.

What should do when I retired.

This year we have bountiful of tangerines. Way more than we need plus we all have to keep social distancing, cannot go to church or work, therefore there is no way that I bring some to share

Each day, lots of the tangerines fall off the tree before I can have time to pick them from the tree.

Picking tangerine from the floor, I thought about the Manna in Exodus, though this tangerine is nothing like the Manna.
Thankful that we have food to eat, a place to live and the family to rely on.

Exodus 16:1-36

Numbers 11:1-19

Pray for one of the brother and his family from our church, pray for his fully recovering.

Grateful that I have a garden of my own.
Though I am sore and tired from working in the yard, thankful that I have the strength to go on and not to give up easily.

It rains again this afternoon.

Day5 - 03212020

Now everyday feels like weekend, except there is no Friday fellowship and Sunday church day to go physically.
My alarm is off since, hope that everything goes back to normal schedule again soon.
Shop only when is necessary and locally.

It had been wet and cold for the past couples of days.
This really makes me feel uncomfortable, Thursday night I had a serious headache.

Cook for six days straight, I usually cook Monday to Thursday, Friday eat out with fellowship. Saturday is our family day, we eat out. I don't need to worry about the cooking not even the bill, just relax and enjoy the time together, my older one always treats us.

I thought about ordering food to go, but I prefer to stay home as possible, don’t want someone to deliver the food for me either. Who knows who’s been touching or cooking your food.

Sun bath while weeding the garden.
You get free vitamin D from the sun and the Immune system and mood will be boosted.
Gardening a garden that has not been well maintained for years, is tough. I was showering with sweat, including the eyes.
I am a farmer and gardener.
This year, I have grown some more flowers and vegetables.
And last year because the extremely hot temperature, we did not get to harvest any lemons and tangerines, amazingly this year they grew double the fruits back!
But this year there are couples days of freezing temperature while the apple tree is about to bloom,  all the flowers die, pray for it.
Reward myself with some homemade scallion pancakes, yummy!

Let thank you and appreciation become our lifestyle.

Day3 - 03192020

Accidentally deleted this blog and cannot retreat it, terrible!
Tried to recall what I wrote in this blog!
I give up!

Private Uber Day
Drive my older one to work and the young to his friend's house.

“Sometimes you must HURT in order to KNOW, FALL in order to GROW, LOSE in order to GAIN, because life's greatest lessons are learned through PAIN.”

I will go grocery shop tomorrow or the day after.

Cherish our earth.
Plant tree.
Take care of the garden and watching them grow is therapeutic.
Grow your own fruits or vegetables can save your money and the time and gas to travel to the store.
“Plants can convert carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates and oxygen in a process called photosynthes.
Interestingly, in order to maintain their metabolism and continue respiration at night, plants must absorb oxygen from the air and give off carbon dioxide (which is exactly what animals do).
Fortunately for all of us oxygen breathers, plants produce approximately ten times more oxygen during the day that what they consume at night.”

Day4 - 03202020

Private Uber Day
Drive my older one to work and the young to his friend's house.

I used to wish that I can at least write one blog each day.

Today is the fourth day straight that I made it, but was sad about it is fulfilled in this kind of situation.
Pray that everything and everyone will back to the normal life soon.

We had Fruit slush for breakfast.
Pick scallion from our backyard wanted to make Scallion Cake (蔥油餅), made fried rice instead. There is still some scallion left, so maybe we will have Scallion Cake tomorrow.

Went to 99 ranch and
Aldi for some grocery shopping. At Aldi, the cashier greet to the people (Hispanic) ahead of me, the people (Caucasian) after me, but not a word to me.

Racism, sad, well, it was not the first time.

Continue weeded the garden until I got hurt by the rose throne, then I called it a day.

On the way home, I saw mountains covered with snow again.
Pray that we will get out of drought completely this year.

Weeded the garden was tiring yet rewarding.

So far so good, well adjust to this lifestyle change.
No grocery shopping maybe tomorrow or the day after.
Starting with some housecleaning today, looking forward for the new look of the house after two weeks.

Pray for the people who are suffering with the Coronavirus, may God heal them.
And comfort the people who lost their love ones.
May Lord calms Coronavirus anxiety and panic.

Day1 - 03172020

The first day of office closed.
Time to pick up my writing routine.

Going to be a full time stay home mom for at least two weeks.
Hope it won't take long before we can go back to our regular routine again.
Hope this Coronavirus will impact the societies the bad way as less as possible. And we will all learn something from it. Practice our hygiene, keeps the social distancing, be really careful, but not panic or hoarding the stores.
Maintain a healthy life, exercise physically and mentally and eat healthy.
Pray for the leaders, the medical teams and everyone else who make efforts for this difficult time.

Jonny Diaz - "Breathe
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hnjeMwxFuBA

Worship and Pray firmly become our daily routine. Pray anytime, anywhere and for everything to our Heavenly Father.
Do we should and can do leave the rest to the Lord.

Private Uber Day
Drove my older one to work.
Go shop at Aldi, and found that shoppers were already forming a long line to get in the store way before its open hour.
I bought something including one pack of ice cream for dinner, then wait in another long line to check out. The good thing was that the cashier worked fast as usual.
For a long time I always wonder why the cashiers at Aldi worked faster than other stores, is that because they all sit on the chairs while they work, they get paid more, they get better benefit, or is that they have a better system?

Got a full tank of gas.

Cook lunch, ate lunch.
Drove my young one to friend's house.
Browse around some stores before haeding home again.
Sprouts was crowded, I did not even want to walk in, turned around and drove home.
No wonder a lot of shelves are empty shortly after the store is open.

Weeded the garden.
Get some vegetables from the yard for dinner.

Since I change to this new job for two years I haven't take any vacation time not even a single sick leave.
