Hurt vs. Recover

Everybody was born with different personality traits, and I see myself as a sensitive person, easily get hurt and touched.

And I also am a one, not so easy to be defeated and a self-recovery person.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Stories behind every picture

Wolfberry comes back to live after the whole leaves withered!
First blossom of Wolfberry, gorgeous!

This is the plant that a lovely couple from my church gave me months ago and the husband insisted that it is too heavy for me to hold so he moved it to my car for me.

Every day, I watered it and watching it grows.

One day, all the leaves started to have bumps all under the leaves, looked like either some bugs were laying eggs there or it was sick or something and then all the leaves started to turn yellow and soon after all the leaves were gone.

I was very upset, thinking, “How will I tell them about this when I see them again in church?”

At the beginning, I tried to search from the internet to find ways to save the tree with some nature ways, like spray with homemade ginger water, garlic water and the like which I was hoping are the way to kill either the germs or the bugs.

I was desperate, for some time, the tree remind the same, lifeless and leafless.

Prayed for it and sang to them as I usual do.

Now it finally back to life and have the first flower two days ago.

Another story behind this tree is the husband of the tree giver, had a medical emergency, brain hemorrhage, almost 2 months ago, and now is in the process of recovery.

I pray the Lord to give the healing and strength to him and his family. I also tried my best to visit them once a week; singing, praying and chatting with them, one more like I usually do when visiting someone who is sick or injure.

Pray him like the dying tree back to its full life, grow flowers and fruits again.

p.s. there are 2 times that I heard him said something that is really negative, as after his brain hemorrhage probably damage some of the nerves, don’t know is that the case this negative thoughts came from or is that in his subconscious, besides prayer is more prayer for his recovery.

And when he is fully recovered, I’ll for sure to tell him that how scared is that to hear what he said.

spring

This morning at work, when I went to do some copying, I saw a small spring on the top of the copy machine, I was puzzled, “who left a spring here?” so I took it and set it aside, and you know the tiny space for the paper clip.

After finished copy and went back to my desk I saw a plunger on my table that is when I realized that that is the spring of my pen.

Good thing is that I didn't throw the spring away earlier, my pen back to life.

cancelled

So, after I got the email about the cancellation of the competition.

I was eagerly to let my older son know that now that we can all can go together.

Somehow, our phones went wrong, when I tried to call him, we couldn’t hear each other, so I texted him to call me instead, again, we couldn’t hear each other.

So, I texted him the whole story, after couples of texting back and forth, my son texted, “so why call now, it’s not urgent.”

I have no words.

struggle

Originally, my younger son has a competition tomorrow, the schedule time is, and it won’t be finishing until 7 o’clock or later.

And then my older son’s fellowship has a hot pot event at one of the brother’s home, the exactly same day and time is overlapped.

Therefore, I can only go either one of it.

I was so struggled, because, as a mom, I always thought I need to give them equal love and attention as possible, I did hoping that I can go both, even it’s at the same day.

This morning, out of nowhere, the email came from the school, said that tomorrow’s competition has been cancelled.

My heart is filled with joy and question, happy that we all can go with the older son and puzzled why is the event is cancelled in the last minute, is that something wrong or someone has an emergency.

Now that my best guessing is the weather, it’s extremely hot tomorrow, and completion is held outside.

Heart

Yesterday, while I was preparing the power point for this morning habitation center’s sharing, toward the very end of editing, I must accidentally touch some key and the whole content is gone.

Though it’s not a big file, and as I’m not an expert, I did spend some time and effort on preparing it.

I tried any way that I know to get the content back but in vain, so I went to a co-worker for help, he didn’t know what happened either, then there’s a quick prayer in my mind, God, please help me, and then out of nowhere the contents back.

I asked my co-worker, what did you do to retrieve the content back, he answered, I don’t know.

Intwine together

With the Books that I borrowed from library, free magazines from recyclebank.com, Time, Reader's Digest and Popular Science, I’m kind of overwhelmed, it's like I want to finish them all but cannot.

Mancora Peruvian Cuisine

Chicha Morada, a traditional Peruvian drink made with purple corn,
fresh fruits (blueberry and apple), cinnamon.

Free small dish to share, forgot to ask, I guess, it's the fry purple corn.

Tallarines Verdes con bistec, Jalea Mixta, and Arroz Chaufa (clockwise from the top). Honestly, we couldn't read any of the menus, my best guessing is Spanish, the descriptions are in English though, and also the dish that I order is the most expensive one for it's an appetizer.

Originally, we were going to a restaurant called, Lunasia Chinese cuisine for Dim Sum, but during weekend after certain time, it spot provide Dim Sum.

So, we walk to a nearby new restaurant to give it a try, Mancora Peruvian Cuisine.

After we been seated and chose what we’d like to order from the menu, I noticed that the waitress keep looking at my direction, feeling rather strange and that’s when I realized that there’s a big screen TV right above me.

And I told my sons whom sit across to me that I didn’t feel comfortable to sit here and almost immediately the waitress walked to us and asked us if we could switch our seating to the other side for there was a group of 8 people coming to dine in.

Praise the Lord, gladly; I said, of course, no problem.

Overall, we rating this restaurant, 7 out of 10, one thing I did forget that we should go the restroom and check the cleanness before left the restaurant, for if the restroom is clean meaning the rest of the restaurant is clean, I supposed.

永青 9-22-2017 sharing

We being share together from Pentateuch, historical books, and today let's talk about wisdom literature books.

Wisdom literature books; include the book of Job, psalms, proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.
Before we start, I’d like to share a story, real life story about a young solider.
Todd Weaver was a senior when the attack on America on September 11, 2001 occurred. It inspired him. He told his parents that day that as soon as he could serve his country, he would do it. He became a solider after graduated from high school and later was killed i
n Afghanistan when he was only 27 years old.

After the funeral, his wife, Emma went home to mourn and try to put the pieces of her life back together. Two days after the burial she opened Todd’s laptop and what she found took her breath away.

On the desktop were two Word documents, one titled “Dear Emma” and the other called “Dear Kiley.”

As a solider Todd knew how danger was his situation, he might die any time for protection the country. That's how he had prepared the letters for his love one.

A letter full of love, appreciation, no hate, no regret, here's part of the letter to his wife, Emma.
Never forget that God knew what was best for us before we were even born. Take comfort in that. This happened for a reason. Although you may not believe it now, you will one day.

Tell her that Daddy is in heaven now and will watch over her and protect her every minute of every day. I love you Emma. But never be afraid to do what you need to do to be happy. It is so important that you continue to find happiness in your life. Although you may think this is impossible right now, have faith.

Yet another letter full of encouragement, support, here’s the part of the letter to his young daughter, Kiley:
You are so very special to me sweetie – you are truly a gift from God. But remember, your Daddy is not gone. I am in heaven now smiling down on you every day.
Always remember to say your prayers at night and be thankful for all your many blessings.
But when things aren’t going your way, never forget that God knows what is best for you and everything will work out in the end.

The best legacy children can receive from parents is faith.

The following is a love song to share, it's not a hymn, as I prepared for the sharing, and I found something that is interesting. The vocalist was born 59 years today, and my younger son's birthday is today too. And mostly, I'm hoping we all can fall in love with our God forevermore, we not just give Him our physical hands but our whole lives, everything onto Him.

Andrea Bocelli, is an Italian classical crossover tenor, recording artist, and singer-songwriter. Born with poor eyesight, Bocelli became permanently blind at the age of 12, following a football accident.

Andrea Bocelli - Can't Help Falling In Love (HD)

One time my son asked me this tough question. Did God ever do bad things?
Is it in our eyes or in the God's eyes?

Let’s take a quick look at these five books, starting from the book of Job, a God-fearing man who experiences terrible trials and sufferings, and calls out to God for an explanation. Job's three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar (以利法、 比勒達和瑣法), came to comfort him and end up judging Job in the eyes of human beings. Elihu (以利戶) was watching and hearing their dispute, finally opened his mouth and said something that reminded Job about God. We can only find finds solace in God’s presence. The conversation between job and God were written in Job 38 - 42.
Job 約伯記 42:7-17.

Psalm, a collection of prayers, songs, and poetry, many of them were written by King David. A book is full of humans' emotions, praise, doubt, repentance, joy and the like. One the famous one is psalm 23, later we'll again, sing, memorize and exercise along with it.

King David's son, Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.

And then Proverbs, in Proverbs 1:7 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Ecclesiastes beginning with in 1:2 “Vanity of vanities,” saith the Preacher. “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” that sometimes feels our lives are fatalistic and cynical.

Nevertheless, its message is ultimately the positive one that living in obedience to God provides grounding for human life.

Song of Songs is a poem about marriage, the love and etc. Many Christians also find in it an allegorical message about the love of Christ for His church.

“It is not the length of life, but the depth of life,” Todd Weaver's father stated, quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson as he reflected on his son’s accomplishments at his funeral.

First step

This time I am seriously about job changing so far there’s only one resume sent out and one interview.

It’s not easy, especially when you hit certain age and have no typically skill.

I remembered our last fellowship meeting, we are studying of a book called Cerebration of Discipline, and we are barely on the first discipline, mediation.

Toward the end of the meeting, the leader of our group asked everybody take some time and mediation on the bible verses on “five bread and two fished”, imaged that we were one of the role except Jesus in this story or just had a conversation with Jesus.

And I came out nothing to share with, I’m not a creative nor have a good imagination person.

Actually, toward the end of mediation, I did try to image to ask a question about my job changing to Jesus, but got no answer. What my guessing is, either it ran out of the time for Jesus to answer me or I just have to wait patiently and silently on this matter.

crazy

Sometimes, feeling having a crazy life, but you cannot change it or even running away from it.

Take it and deal with it, fortunately, I am not alone, God is always watching over me, comfort me and telling me take it easy, just solve all the problems one by one, step by step.

Free pen

Free pen, one of the popular free gift that giveaway in the events.

I’ll say the quality of the pen is good but as the duration is kind of short, it's free, can't complain.

first timer

First time to be the narrator for the church, not bad!?

I’m really nervous and glad at the same time when the media director recorded this with me.

Actually, when I walked in the church's office and being asked to do so, the first impression in my mind is not that it made my another dream came true, but someone will see it and have some words with me again.

Yes, be scolded again; first time, three years ago, after I gave testimony on the stage at church, second day, kindly, be informed with a letter, this time, second day, scolded in the public.

Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice

Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice, a restaurant only has one item on their menu.

When dine in a restaurant, typically, the waiter or waitress will ask you this question after seating the guests for a while, "are you guys ready to order?"

For me, most of time, I need a lot more time than others to decide which dish that I want to have. But as in this case, problem solved.

Another issue that you probably experience before, I had two in a row recently, "Sorry! We don't have the dish that you want to order today."

Again, it probably won’t' happen in this restaurant either, otherwise, it won't even open.

The flyer

A door flyer on our door the other day, no one care to take it down?

iPhone X

Weeks ago, I was joking to a friend that i was coming to his fellowship to get my prize, an iPhone ten. For a sister shared her home grown Kyoho grapes 巨峰葡萄 with me.

And it turned out there's really an iPhone ten; the iPhone X is pronounced “iPhone ten.

Why is iPhone X is pronounced iPhone ten, It could be a reference to the fact that its 10 years after the first iPhone launched.

What a coincidence, in other thought, I should get an iPhone X!?

By the way the Kyoho grapes are really good.

9-8-2017 sharing; Joshua and more

Last time we talk about Moses, how he led the Israelites cross red sea and out of Egypt.

However, their faith in God failed them and they refused to march forward to take possession of the land of Canaan. It was a failure that resulted in God's judgment, condemning the Israelites to forty years of wilderness wandering. Moses die in Mount Nebo, looking at promise land.

A new generation of Israelites, hardened by the years in the wilderness and spiritually strengthened by living in obedience to the Law of Yahweh's holy covenant, were prepared to march forward in faith to claim the Promised Land.

Led by God's anointed leader, Joshua, these holy warriors obediently placed their lives and the future of their children in the hands of their Holy God and Divine King. Their victory not only established Israel as a holy nation but advanced God's plan for mankind's ultimate salvation. We'll briefly talk about 9 out of 12 Historical books in Old Testament.

Three main roles, the Lord, the leader, and the people.
The deliverance from Egypt was only in preparation for the enjoyment of Canaan; we are brought out of sin so that we might be into abundant life.  預表主耶穌基督領我們進入與神同在的豐盛和安息

Joshua; Conquest of the Promised Land (1:1-12:24), Allotment of the Tribal Lands (13:1-22:34), Israel's Future in the Promised Land (23:1-24:33)

Judges & Ruth, the book of Judges powerfully demonstrates the chaos that can arise when sin reigns in people’s hearts. In contrast, the book of Ruth offers a message of redemption and hope following disorder. Set in a time when everyone “did what was right in his own eyes,” both books work together to highlight God’s faithfulness in the midst of Israel's disobedience.

The book of
1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings and 1 & 2 Chronicles: the kings of Judah & Israel, record the history of God’s people from the time of the Judges to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians.

1 Samuel 8:4-9 and said to him, “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.” 4 於是,以色列的長老一起到拉瑪去見撒母耳, 5 說:「你年紀大了,你的兒子不效法你。

1 Chronicles 28:3 But God said unto me, ‘Thou shalt not build a house for My name, because thou hast been a man of war and hast shed blood.’

所羅門 1 Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.
