Rediculous

Case#1 It was a Sunday
Dad: I fell and had a scratch and it's painful I need to go to the ER!
Me: Who's got hurt and not painful!?
Case#2 It was also a Sunday
Dad: My shoulder hurt and I called the doctor and the Doctor told me to go to the ER!
Me: When you called the doctor after hour the answering machine will say that to everybody!

First of all it's not an emergency. And most of all no one will want to go near the hospital in this period of time unless you work there or you are going to die!
If I work in the ER and see you I will tell you to get lost!! Stop abuse the medical system and put others' lives at risk!

Both fall on the Sunday that I need to go to lead the prayer meeting!!

Day 167 - 08302020 Sunday

Lecture#11
Priority and venison.

Lecture#12 Exodus 18, Mose tried to do all the work himself.
Delegation, it's not an option, learn to be good at delegate. As a leader you need to recruit. To delegate the responsibility. Never do the task alone. Otherwise you and your people will burn out. We meet the needs of the people.
The organization will not be perpetuated. To reproduce to keep the organization going. Why the leader don't delegate? #1 We confuse the rule of the leader. We think you must have the provision for the problem to result and everything is your personal responsibility. You are there to make sure the job gets done. #2 The fear/guilt of failure, fear of lost control. #3 They want the glory. Why not share the glory around. And we are for the glory of God. #4 we ignore the process of delegation. #5 Sometimes we are just lazy because delegation takes effort to teach. #6 The leaders are so over committed they don't have time to train others. Then you need to take a step back you must make time. #7 Because nobody out there can/ wants to do it. No one taught them how to.
Give right gift to the right duty. Put ten men to do the work not to do the ten men's works.

I only take down some notes, no inactive with the teachers, no homeworks and no exams to take. Good job to you all are taking classes online. So proud of the students and their parents. And cannot image if I have young kids to take care of in this typical situation. How am I going to entertain them, keep them learning and everything.

Closing prayer, let pray for the following Sunday service. Dear Heavenly Father, we praise and we love you. May Your light shine upon us. Pray for the worship leader and today's speaker. May everyone be blessed and touched by God's love. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen!

Day 161 - 08242020

The green bean seeds are starting germinating.

When you don't have time you complain about wishing have some time to do the things that you want to do. When you truly have some time you are so lazy to do the things that you used to want to do. Human!

Sunday, August 23, 2020

Day 160 - 08232020 Sunday

The okra that I planted are starting germinating. It's a joy to see the seed germination. But feeling lazy to take care of it.
I am thinking to make my own yeast. Since the yeast is nowhere to be found also the majority of them have the adding of Sorbitan monostearate as an emulsifier. Or I could use beer to sub yeast to make bread. Therefore, I need to find out how and also the ingredients of the beer.

Need to transfer the pineapple and rosemary to a bigger pot soon.

Saturday, August 22, 2020

Day 159 - 08222020

Yesterday the first time got a young coconut without the coconut meat!

It's so hot and I drank so much water and it felt like I drank more water than the food that I ate.

Friday, August 21, 2020

Day 158 - 08212020

Finally, I bought a new fly swatter at 99 ranch after a long time searching for it. Actually, I did find it weeks ago at Ralph but the quality was not so good.
The yeast still nowhere to be found I only have one last pack left.

Thursday, August 20, 2020

Day 157 - 08202020

Another stay still and do nothing and still sweating hot day.

Planted 1 pack of each okra and green bean seeds that I bought the other day. That makes 30 okra seeds and 16 green bean seeds.

Tomorrow I am going to buy young coconut and continue to look for yeast and wheat flour. And radish too, I want to make radish cake.

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Day 156 - 08192020

I transferred the onion plants to the yard ground. Pray for their growing. Watching and taking care of the plants growing like my own kids.
Preparing for second of onion planting within the week.
Tomorrow I will try my first taro milk.
Never bake the taro!

Next project, taro cake, radish cake and sesame cake.

Tuesday, August 18, 2020

Day 155 - 08182020

I made two batches of dumplings yesterday. The first batch of the dumpling skin is drier. The second one is much softer. And it turned out the second batch is much easier and to make.

Last year this time time we had plenty of homegrown apples. But not this year the tree dead.

We also had endless tangerines last year, this year it only has a few.

And heat weaves made the lemons had sunburn.

Monday, August 17, 2020

Day 154 - 08172020

Dumplings that guarantee no leftover. It's a hard work to make your own from scratch. It puts the smile on your face when you see the empty plates.
Made some frozen dumplings and turned the leftover dumpling filling into meatballs by adding one egg and some cornstarch.
Also, I cook the dumplings and the meatballs in the beef soup smell so good.
Just an idea if your family doesn't like to drink soup, then use the soup to cook dumpings, noodles or rice. By this way they are not just having the soup in some other forms it make the food that cook in it especially delicious.

Sunday, August 16, 2020

Day 153 - 08162020 Sunday

I want to make Taro Cake, Sesame Cake and dumpings.

How are you guys doing so far!? The year of 2020!

Doing the composting for couples of months now. Sometimes I want to give up. But thinking of how doing this can reduce the trash and give the natural fertilizer for our yard I continue. Each one of us can do our own part of saving our environment. Unfortunately, most of the people ignoring this, how sad!
Today I start something new, saving the urine as the fertilizer for the plants. At first I felt awkward doing so, but recalled when I was little I used to urinate directly in the yard. Now I am only saving them in the jar for later use. Also, I will save the water to flush it down the toilet.

Self quarantine

Since the pandemic I hardly go out of the city that I live. For all the have to grocery shopping and food takeout. The only times that I am out of the city are the necessary trip to my mechanic and the prayer meeting leading at our church services one to twice of a quarter.
I know this may sound weird or unreasonable to most of the people.
But think of if your city is doing better than others you want it keeping the good condition. Likewise the other way around. Shop local, eat local can be better to help your local small business. I don't order food delivery  to reduce the contacts.
So when I realized that my older one been ordered some takeout from out of the city. That was hurt not only he ignore my concern and that he didn't about to share the food with us that was even sad.
The other day my younger one told me that he wanted to go to his friend's house. I didn't say no and I don't think I should make the decision for him or forced him to make the decision that I wanted. I reasoned him about not just consider about his own health and safety, but also consider others' he finally gave up to go. I meant that I really appreciate that he came to me first, regardless of him, probably he needed a ride from me in the first place. It is really not a good time to meet people in the closed space. Actually, I want to offer my son that they can meet outside like plaza instead. Hastily to tell him my idea still concern what if something bad happens after that outside meeting. Maybe I worry too much, but what can I say!? It's better to be than sorry!
If he dose asks me to meet his friend outside. I should give him the yes answer with three conditions; wear masks at all time, keep social distancing and pray for everyone 's safety and health.

Saturday, August 15, 2020

Day 152 - 08152020

Super hot today, you take a shower and the next second you were all sweating again. It's like showering with the sweat. I felt like I shouldn't take a shower in the first.

Next week I should plant the second bath of the onion.

Survived

Now I recalled that I had five sexual harassment three at high school age two in college age.
At that time I didn't know the term of sexual harassment, but I knew that was inappropriate and very uncomfortable. I was lucky to get away from it both physically and mentally. I don't know how but I did.
I had serious depression before and didn't or never used any alcohol or drugs to rid them.
Also, I had ever done things that real danger and might hurt myself deeply permanently.
I am not in perfect condition now at least I still able to take care myself and my love ones!

Used to be a young and naive one.

08142020 Devotion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK9PHEpACvM

Good morning brothers and sisters, this is Alice from HarvestLA. Today is Friday, August  14th, 2020. We are going to have our daily devotion on Romans 9:25-33. Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You. May we all humbly bow down before You and listen to Your words. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen!

Romans 9:25-33 25 As he says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” 26 and, “In the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” 27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. 28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.” 29 It is just as Isaiah said previously: “Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.” 30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. 32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. 33 As it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

The book of Romans is the letters from Paul, who wrote to the church in Rome about God's salvation. In verses 25, 26, 28, 29 and 33 Paul quoted from Hosea and Isaiah the prophets. Why did God change His mind about His blessings from the Jews and Israelites to Gentiles? Or should
we say that the Jews and Israelites changed their minds. They worshipped other gods and idols. They refused God's Son Jesus Christ. They abandoned their identifications as God's chosen people. They thought they could obtain the righteousness by pursuing the law and how many works they have achieved. You maybe memorize every single detail of the law, but no one can perfectly fulfill every single bit of the law. God gives us free will to make our own choices and decisions. Otherwise, we will be like robots. God wants unity, not uniformity. We are saved by Grace and Mercy through our faith. Not because our bloodline, culture, race, the color of the eyes, skin and the like.

If not because of God giving us His one and only Son, who died for our sins and rose the third day, I wouldn't have been able to join this big family, HarvestLA, Adult fellowship, the prayer meeting team and the daily devotion team. A safe place that I am able to fit in and share my ups and downs. Brothers and sisters, is Jesus Christ your building foundation or stumbling stone!?

Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and we love You. We want to trust in You alone. Lord you are the potter we are the clay, please mold us into the vessel for Your purpose. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen!

Thank you again for joining our daily devotion. Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to subscribe to our channel! Bye!

Day 151 - 08142020

There is no such thing as 俗擱大碗 plentiful and cheap!
I returned the stand mixer that I bought online from Home Depot. There tons of people returning and buying there.
And now I am thinking about buying this mixer.
https://www.target.com/p/kitchenaid-professional-600-series-6-qt-stand-mixer-kp26m1x/-/A-13545265?preselect=12456904#lnk=sametab
I always wanted to have a mixer not for days, weeks, or months but for years.

Day 150 - 08132020

Made steam buns with some backyard vegetables, yum!

Onion seeds are germinating!

Sadly to say that I decided to return the stand mixer I bought days ago. Packing everything back in the box for tomorrow's return to Home Depot.

Wednesday, August 12, 2020

Day 149 - 08122020

I tried some other function on my new Sencor stand mixer. I have to say is what you got is what you pay.

There is completely blank, no indicator for the speed number whatsoever! I just randomly guess and using my sense to adjust the speed that I need.

And when I use the blending function with the beater and dough hook it feels the mixer is going to fall apart!?

Buy one became four and then

The true story behind buy one become four. It is a long but cannot be short.

Once upon a time. Seriously originally I only want or need to buy the fly swatter. I checked from Homedepo's website it clearly states that how many amount are in stock in the store even including the aisle number and bay number where you could find it. Therefore merrily I drove to the Homedepot the other day to get them. By the way it is sold in pair. When I arrived the store before I went in I said to myself that it would be awkward if I only bought one item in this kind of time and store so pick up one small pot of rosemary. Some other good reasons why I want to buy the rosemary. First of all I love the smell of it and I have been trying to plant and propagate either from friends, store and cull from the side of street hundreds millions of times all failed. Then I walked into the store and spot this cute little Venus Flytrap. I said to myself again if I could have three things when I checked out it would be better than two so I grab one. And then I found the exact aisle number and bay number where the fly swatter was supposed to locate but there were none thus I bravely asked one of the store worker who was happening to be passing by. "Excuse me, where is the fly swatter?" I even asked with the swat motion. He answered "we don't have it in the store." I was frozen. Disappointed, I want to check out and went on my next grocery shopping stop the Asian supermarket. And then we I got home, I checked the Homedeopt's website one more. Somehow, I ended up checking the stand mixer. With many days' searching and considering I decided that I need one. The end. Wait a minute, I then struggle with should I have them free to my house or free ship to the store pickup!? Pick up from the store that is. The real end! That was kind of a long story, sorry, bye for now!

Surprised here's comes more. Buy one became four and then Down to three!

It was a misery. Last night I bought the fly swatter and stand mixer online finally. Everything went well, I got the confirmation email. But minutes later I got another email said one of the item that I purchased was cancelled due to out of stock. So quickly I wrote a feedback to complain about it. After sending the feedback I checked the order status and I found the item was cancelled was the fly swatter not the mixer. I read it wrong by cancelled item was the mixer! Immediately I had to send another feedback to correct it, but still not happy about the product shows in stock but actually is not! And then I tried to turn off the computer, but accidentally click the restart button instead of the turn off button! What a night!

Finally, at least that I thought. https://praisedance123.blogspot.com/2020/08/day-141-08042020.html
Got my order today. More story to tell plus the try on the first function, meat grinder.  https://praisedance123.blogspot.com/2020/08/day-147-08102020.html
Continue to try on the main function, mixer.
Blending function, https://praisedance123.blogspot.com/2020/08/day-149-08122020.html

Today I tried the dough hook for the dough the machine came out some really bad smell. The last part of this story is I make the decision that I am going to return the stand mixer.
So from buy one to four then to three and then to two.

Day 148 - 08112020

How contamination the reusable shopping bags can be!? First, they banned all the reusable shopping bags in the store. And now you can bring your own bags, but you have to bag yourself. If you think my bags are contaminated then after I done checking out you should clean the conveyor like you clean the shopping cart. I noticed Target did that for some time, then they stop doing it. Some of the stores they even clean the shopping carts after every usage. Also, because the pandemic I always wear an extra layer of clothes and pants. After I come home, I hang the clothes, pants and the shopping bags outside under the sun for the whole day.
Because the pandemic, there is less traffic, therefore there is less pollution.
But we use a lot more plastic bags and containers in the stores and restaurants than usual.
When are we going to go back to our normal lives.

It's a Very Green Day. The cheese, veggie bread is so good!

Monday, August 10, 2020

Day 147 - 08102020

Got my online order of the Sencor stand mixer with 6 attachments from Home Depot. The price is good the product looks good too. The first function that I tried is the grinder. Disappointed first that I have to constantly take apart it to clean the meat was stocked inside and then the meat came out a bit of grayish, what I was guessing it was because either it was from the metal part or the greasy oil on the parts but for that I already cleaned it before I used it. So I had no clue. Originally I was going to make dumpings with the ground meat. After all this I gave up. I didn't even finish grounded all the meat that was supposed to be grounded. I ended up just dumped all the meat and vegetables in the pot and stirred fry it. I hope it's not that what you get is what you pay! I will try other functions later on.
Another thing was when I went picking up the package I didn't get a shopping cart and they will at least ask me that I needed one. The good thing was that I am strong enough to carry the mixer all the way back to my car, it is around 20 pounds.

There were disasters like typhoon, explosion, fire and people lost of lives etc. around the glob. I should stop complaining and appreciate little things in my life.

Sunday, August 9, 2020

Day 146 - 08092020 Sunday

Yesterday Homedepot called about my order was ready to pick up. I hope that is the right one this time. I planned to pick up tomorrow, which is not a weekend. I really don't want to go anywhere on the weekend, especially this kind of timing. And I don't feel as excited about it anymore.

Need to do grocery shopping for our refrigerator is almost empty. We need lots of veggies, fruits, meat and more.

Saturday, August 8, 2020

Day 145 - 08082020

Laziness + procrastinate + idle = me

Today we took advantage of the T-MOBILE Tuesday reward for a free Popeyes chicken sandwich and 2 strips along with some other stuffs for our lunch. But waiting in a very long line and time to get them. My older son got sunburned under the hot sun. Apparently a bunch of people did so kind of regret. It was not worthy.

The heat from the sunlight soothing my trigger finger. Unfortunately, it only lasted for a short moment.  While I was waiting in the car for my son I flipped the phone as a therapy for my trigger finger.

Friday, August 7, 2020

Day 144 - 08072020

Made another of compost. And planted tomato from part of the rotten ones.

Yesterday I moved some cantaloupe and tomato planted from the pot to the ground they don't look very good. May not be survived.

Not a good idea to working under the hot sun after that felt that I almost fainted. It's hard to be a real farmer.

The soybean plant has hairy leaves, stems and pods. No wonder in Chinese we called it 毛豆 like hairy beans.

Day 143 - 08062020

Compare the homemade papaya milk and avocado milk with the store buy. They probably use like one third or half of the main ingredients; papaya and avocado plus some extra sugar which I don't have for my homemade ones.

Tomorrow's project, chocolate coconut nut oatmeal cookie.

I also want to make taro milk.

Day 142 - 08052020

Is that worthy to compare the of price, then go shopping at different stores for grocery!? That's normally I do.

Day one of the onion planting from seeds. The total seeds that I planted today were 108. Still a lot more seeds left. I should plant more.

Day 141 - 08042020

My whole day's mood and schedule was all ruined.
I hardly shop online. Last week I finally made the order for a stand mixer from Home Depot, which I have been plundering about should I buy it or not for weeks. Yesterday I received both the text and email to inform me the shipment was here. So I went this morning to pick up from the store. And everything went very wrong.

I went this morning around 9:30am to pick it up. But the worker told me they had sent the wrong package and that she would reorder it again for me. When I went home, I checked the "Track Package" function. It shows the package is currently delivered at 11:47am in the store. Then I tried to reply the email informing to tell them. The following was what I got.
"

Download our app
Thank you for contacting The Home Depot, this is an automated reply from an unmonitored mailbox.

Please do not respond to this email.
Sincerely,
The Home Depot"

Therefore, I tried to text them again for the things happened and the following was what I got. “Thank you for contacting The Home Depot. To support the high volume of help requests resulting from COVID-19, we have temporarily suspended messaging services. Our customer service team is still available. Please call us at 1-800-430-3376 between 6 am ET to 12 am ET."

And then I tried to call them, but got the machine answering service and one of the options that I can get a tracking link again from the text. I then got the text of the link for tracking. When click on it. It showed the page was not found.

I also message their Facebook got the response coules day later.

In the end, I called my older son for help. Finally the store answered the phone. And said “It was tracking the wrong package” “Home Depot I mean, they think it could be in the next shipment” “They said they will call”. Terrible!

Previously I sent the feedback twice and message their Facebook Ni answers! I thought big company is trustworthy turned out they don't care this tiny client!

Day 140 - 08032020

I am trying to force myself to stay outside at least one hour each. Besides doing some yard work. First of all, of course, to avoid from too much screen time. Get some sunlight for the free vitamin D and fresh air and observe the nature at the same time. Also the sunlight can help in getting the happy hormone.

I went grocery shopping this morning and I forgot about the toothpaste again.

This afternoon I got the email and text about the stand mixer that I ordered arrived at the store, I will go pick up tomorrow morning. How exciting!

After finishing the coconut water from the shell I save the flesh. And the flesh smells so good!

Day 138 - 08012020

August!

I remembered the last time that I took a break from work for four months. It was almost nineteen years ago when I took the maternity leave for the birth of my younger son.

Life is full of unknown surprises.
Ouch! Yesterday the mourning dove's egg fell from the nest the egg was cracked a little I put it back to the nest carefully. But it looks like the parents had decided to abandon the egg. Haven't seen the doves come back the nest since last morning. And this afternoon I found the empty egg shell on the ground, someone must eat it.

Let the moment become eternal.

When I was little we used to have a coconut tree. And when the coconuts were ripe, a man will come and knock on our door to offer harvesting the coconuts with repaying of part of the coconuts.

Life is all about the paycheck and payment.

Real hot this weekend pretend I was taking the sauna.

Oh, I pumped the gas yesterday and wiped the windshield. Finally I can see better now.
