Blind Painter (Texas Country Reporter)

Painting with his heart and all the senses but eyesight.
He can even tell the color by touching.

Sometimes it’s sad to say that we never cherish something or someone until we lost it.

If it’s not something happen, he maybe will never try painting and success at it.

And the painting heals his heart too.

to cook or not to cook

There are friends of mine, both pampered by their parents while they are little.
Never need to or know how to do any house chores, no cleaning, cooking and etc.

Then when both of them grow up and married and have their own family,

One learns how to and willing to do everything for her love ones.
She will go search for how to do a particular dish only because she learns that her son loves that dish at a restaurant eats out once.

The other one, complain about, how competent is her mom and that’s how she doesn't get to have any chance to learn.

prayer

This morning when I wake up and do my daily prayer for beginning of the day, I suddenly remember that starting from tomorrow; I have a tight schedule besides work and family things.

Monday, our routine meeting for the work, then my routine emails for both small group and service team.

Tuesday is the quarterly graduation ceremony for evergreen green senior college and a lunch after as usual.

Wednesday, I am going to visit one my senior friends at the rehabilitation center, then go back to work. In the afternoon, there will be a possible bible study with one of the church friend, for she haven’t get chance to come to church for worship or fellowship for some time, either because her tight schedule or sometimes she is just simply too weak to go. That’s how this bible study idea comes to my mind and as she agree with this bible study thing being set up.

Thursday, if the bible study doesn’t get to happen on Wednesday then I’ll try again, according to her schedule that only these two afternoons, she can probably have time to have the bible study.

For this Friday, we don’t have our regular service at the rehabilitation center, so our group leader say let’s have a breakfast gathering, for celebrating of the break and treat us a wonderful breakfast and such. And probably after that we might go to one of our team member’s new office for a visit. Or visit one of our sister in need, then go back to work again. And then our usual Friday night meeting, this Friday is the good Friday special meeting, is a must go thing.

Saturday, it is our once a month service at the senior apartment.

Sunday, again, it’s our routine Sunday church schedule. And it should be our group’s turn for the Sunday usher this week, got to double check on it.

This month of April, happen to be our second peak time for our company. That’s how I need to pray to God for forgiveness, why is that?

At First, I try to talk myself to cancel some of the service things according to my tight schedule, but  in the other hand that I know that I shouldn’t that’s how I pray God for forgiveness on those thoughts and again I have to pray bravely for blessings on everything that I need, the energy, a willing heart, a joyful mood, for wisdom, for those friends and customers that I’m going to meet, for prosperity on work, for my love ones, especially for my kids.

Powered Breakfast: Eggs

Egg recipes, first comes to my mind is, either simple as hard boiled eggs or scrambled eggs or sunny side up eggs or as fancy as Scrambled Eggs With Shrimp or Lobster Scrambled Eggs or Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes.

And here are the recipes that I found, they looks luxurious but simple to make, should be. I mean that I’m going to try them myself.

Eggs in Clouds
4 eggs
¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450.
2. Separate eggs, the whites in a large mixing bowl and the yolks.
Whip the whites at high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Gently stir in the cheese, and then divide the whites into 4 "cloud" shapes on the baking sheet. Make a little well in the center of each cloud.
4. Bake for 3 minutes, then place the yolk into the hole.
5. Bake again until the yolk is done.

For this one, I've tried it but I’ll never try again, you know what I mean, right?

Eggs Baked in Avocado
2 big ripe avocados
4 fresh eggs
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2. Slice the avocados in half, and take out the pit. Scoop out about two tablespoons of flesh from the center of the avocado, just enough so the egg will fit snugly in the center.
3. Place the avocados in a small baking dish. Do your best to make sure they fit tightly. So it won’t tilt and the egg won’t spill out.
4. Crack an egg into each avocado half. Try your best to crack the yolk in first, and then let the egg whites spill in to fill up the rest of the shell.
5. Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Remove from oven, then season with pepper.

For this one, I’ll try bake see if it’s works the same. Or not, it looks pan fry is easier. We’ll see!
Egg-in-the-bread
1 slice of your favorite kind of bread
1 tablespoon butter
1 egg
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Press a hole in the center of the slice of bread, using the bottom of the cup.
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and melt in the butter. When the butter is all spread out, place the piece of bread in the skillet and cracks the egg straight into the center of the hole.
Cook until the egg sets a bit on the bottom, 30 to 45 seconds. Sprinkle the egg with salt and pepper. After about a minute, flip it over with a spatula and salt and pepper the other side.
Move the whole piece of toast around the skillet, soaking up all of the glorious butter. Let it cook until the yolk feels soft. Here's the key: golden brown toast, white (not brown/burned) whites, soft unbroken yolk.

mission impossible

As a single mom like me, I really don’t have much to provide to my kids.

This week is my younger’s school’s spring break, but his brother’s spring was two weeks earlier.

And I suddenly remember that I didn't do anything special with my older son during his break time. So this week I have two surprises for him, together with my young son, we went to pick him up at Tuesday from school and went to a fast food restaurant, Chick fil A, had dinner before heading home. Happy mom, happy kids!

Thursday, I plan another one, the original, I want to surprise him with a hot lunch delivered for he had a break time between two classes, one class in the early morning and the other class in the late afternoon. But mission didn't quite completed, first the school doesn't looks like that we can just walk in as a outsiders and my older one is in the Wi-Fi lounge at school, which is if you move then you loose your spot. Yup! We didn't get to meet him as we original plan for. Therefore, I and my younger one head to a park for couple hours before we can pick his brother, a hiking trip we went.  And according to my young one, the hiking trip is not challenge at all. I’m totally agreed with him, it’s to rush to plan a good one though. Next time, I will have a better plan.

We surely had a wonderful hiking time together; again, away from computer, to me, anything is better. Also the conversations between us is quite enjoyable, I should record them. The only thing is the hiking is way too easy and too short, less than 2 hours. There’s a kids playground at this park, it’s been some time since last I took them to the park and play at playground. Now that we all are too old for that, still I tried on the big slide one time, and I can still fit in that and after I slide down the slide, I didn't break it. I also tried on the swing for a little while, quite a memory back then.

There’s also a horse stable and a professional one for the racing horse too. But probably because the weather is too hot, so we didn't get to see anyone riding the horse around or practices. We do encounter with lots of horse’s poo and I step on one. Its OK, because the horse is vegan animal, the poo has no bad odor.

The last we went shopping and stay at Carl’s Jr have a big soda drink while waiting to give a ride for my older son.

With hours walk, I don’t feel tired at all, what a lovely and fun day, especially with my two sons.

4-26-2015 co-worker gathering

2015, is a brand new and challenge year to me.

It is the first time for me to be a small group leader of our fellowship. Why is it a challenge? Not only because, I get to do something that I never do before, I’m facing a bunch of knowledgeable grow-ups, you all get the pictures, right? But I’m lucky that I have a lot of helps from our co-workers, so I believe that I’ll survive.

Also it’s a first time ever to me, as part of the Sunday school teaching team, again for grow-ups. And if there’s not the Christ and Holy Spirit, I don’t see I can ever know how to lead the class, how to ask questions, how to share, how to pray, how to manage the time and the like. Again, I’m so lucky to have Uncle Robert and Uncle Allen, just kidding, Robert and Allen to be there, together, we work as a strong team.

For all this, of course, first give thanks to our Lord, additional to that there’re two people and a group of service team, I’d and I have to thanks for.

Joanna, who ask me to be the small group leader, encourage me and pray for me and ensure me that there will be tons of people, will back me up.

Second one is pohsien who invite me to join the Sunday school teaching and also assure me that teaching materials are already there also Robert and Allen and I are going work together as a team.

People say dreams come true, to me; I never have these kind dreams, small group leader, Sunday school teacher for grow-ups. From our live oak rehabilitation center service team, I can truly experience, the team work works, how the team members help each other, cover each other’s work, the encouragements, the time to learn from others, the time to have the real life practices, and the most of all, I fully understand, what’s the meaning of, God Doesn’t Call the Qualified, He’ll Qualifies the Called!

There are many examples in the bible.

Isaac was a day dreamer, Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper and denied Christ, David had an affair and tried to cover it up with murder, and Noah got drunk. Elisha was suicidal, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer and he was way too religious.

Timothy had too many ulcers, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Rehab was a prostitute, Samson – he liked prostitute. Isaiah preached naked for three years, John the Baptist ate bugs and had second thoughts about the very Messiah he baptized.

Jeremiah was way too emotional, Moses stuttered, Zacchaeus was too short, Abraham was old and Lazarus was dead. God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called!

沙頂的腳步 footprints in the sand

In times of difficulty, You never leave me or forsake me.
This is a beautiful and touching poem, especially sound out by cello solo.
沙頂的腳印 大提琴獨奏 footprints in the sand Cello solo
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

the prayer

Such a wonderful prayer sung by Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli, don’t know about Italian. It soothes our hearts and give us hope. In Christ, we are safe and sound.
THE PRAYER - Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli
I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go.
And help us to be wise in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to the place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu hai
I pray we'll find your light
nel cuore restera
and hold it in our hearts.
a ricordarci che
When stars go out each night,
eterna stella sei (Eternal Star six)
Ooh.....
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
quanta fede c'e
when shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza
un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace, di fraternita
(We dream a world without violence
a world of justice and faith.
Everyone gives the hand to his neighbours
Symbol of peace, of fraternity)
La forza che ci da
We ask that life be kind
e il desiderio che
and watch us from above
ognuno trovi amor
We hope each soul will find
intorno e dentro se
another soul to love
Let this be our prayer, Let this be our prayer,
just like every child,  just like every child
Need to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
E la fede che
hai acceso in noi,
sento che ci salvera
(It's the faith
you light in us
I feel it will save us)

the rescue station or club

What kind of church we have, Harmony, a country club or a rescue station?
We always say, harmony is a must and we are here to service the needs. Have you ever have this questions ponder in your heart?

"On a dangerous seacoast where shipwrecks were frequent, a crude little rescue station was built. The building was just a hut, and there was only one boat, but the few devoted crewmen kept a constant watch over the sea. With no thought for themselves, they went out day or night, tirelessly searching for any who might need help. Many lives were saved by their devoted efforts.
After a while the station became famous. Some of those who were saved, as well as others in the surrounding area, wanted to become a part of the work. They gave time and money for its support. New boats were bought, additional crews were trained, and the station grew.
Some of the members became unhappy that the building was so crude. They felt a larger, nicer place would be more appropriate as the first refuge of those saved from the sea. So they replaced the emergency cots with hospital beds and put better furniture in the enlarged building.
Soon the station became a popular gathering place for its members to discuss the work and to visit with each other. They continued to remodel and decorate until the station more and more took on the look and character of a club. Fewer members were interested in going out on rescue missions, so they hired professional crews to do the work on their behalf. The rescue motif still prevailed on the club emblems and stationery, and there was a liturgical lifeboat in the room where the club held its initiations.
One day a large ship was wrecked off the coast, and the hired crews brought in many boatloads of cold, wet, half-drowned people. They were dirty, bruised, and sick; and some had black or yellow skin. The beautiful new club was terribly messed up, and so the property committee immediately had a shower house built outside, where the shipwreck victims could be cleaned up before coming inside. At the next meeting there was a split in the club membership. Most of the members wanted to stop the club’s rescue activities altogether, as being unpleasant and a hindrance to the normal social life of the club. Some members insisted on keeping rescue as their primary purpose and pointed out that, after all, they were still called a rescue station. But those members were voted down and told that if they wanted to save lives they could begin their own station down the coast somewhere.
As the years went by, the new station gradually faced the same problems the other one had experienced. It, too, became a club, and its rescue work became less and less of a priority. The few members who remained dedicated to lifesaving began another station. History continued to repeat itself; and if you visit that coast today you will find a number of exclusive clubs along the shore. Shipwrecks are still frequent in those waters, but most of the people drown."

spiritual discipline - confession (5)

Two things happen when we practice confession:
1). we’ll liberate from guilt.
2). Less likely to sin the same sin in the future.
Six steps:
1). Preparation: placing ourselves in the spirit for care and asking for help.
Psalm 19:12
But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.

2). self-examination: prayer, take time to reflect on our thoughts and deeds.
3). perception: new way to look at your sins.
How’s it in culture’s eyes? How’s through God’s eyes?
Confession should be concrete and particular
a). why did I do it?  b). what’s the consequence?
4). getting a new feeling: entering the God’s feeling, other’s pain.
James 4:8-9
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.

5). New promise: for the future, acknowledge the past real repenting or else. How will you change in the future?
6). Healing Grace: not justify, release us from burden.
Living as if grace is reality/real matter/powerful way, move on and live free, not a vocal one, real move.

Some sins may not against the law or not even visible in some point. But think through it through God’s eyes, so should I be able to do it without anyone notice or harm others? Is that ok to do so?
Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), Short Form
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.
There are seven daily sins: lust, laziness, gluttony, greed, wrath, envy, pride

Don’t ever let sins or shame to distort our ability.
Guilt is different from shame. Guilt, a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, wrong, etc., whether real or imagined, while Shame, the painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper, ridiculous, etc., done by oneself or another.

Confession your sins before God and let God heals your shame.

For me often time I confess to God but not people. I do sometimes write them down but hardly vocally.
