永青 9-22-2017 sharing

We being share together from Pentateuch, historical books, and today let's talk about wisdom literature books.

Wisdom literature books; include the book of Job, psalms, proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.
Before we start, I’d like to share a story, real life story about a young solider.
Todd Weaver was a senior when the attack on America on September 11, 2001 occurred. It inspired him. He told his parents that day that as soon as he could serve his country, he would do it. He became a solider after graduated from high school and later was killed i
n Afghanistan when he was only 27 years old.

After the funeral, his wife, Emma went home to mourn and try to put the pieces of her life back together. Two days after the burial she opened Todd’s laptop and what she found took her breath away.

On the desktop were two Word documents, one titled “Dear Emma” and the other called “Dear Kiley.”

As a solider Todd knew how danger was his situation, he might die any time for protection the country. That's how he had prepared the letters for his love one.

A letter full of love, appreciation, no hate, no regret, here's part of the letter to his wife, Emma.
Never forget that God knew what was best for us before we were even born. Take comfort in that. This happened for a reason. Although you may not believe it now, you will one day.

Tell her that Daddy is in heaven now and will watch over her and protect her every minute of every day. I love you Emma. But never be afraid to do what you need to do to be happy. It is so important that you continue to find happiness in your life. Although you may think this is impossible right now, have faith.

Yet another letter full of encouragement, support, here’s the part of the letter to his young daughter, Kiley:
You are so very special to me sweetie – you are truly a gift from God. But remember, your Daddy is not gone. I am in heaven now smiling down on you every day.
Always remember to say your prayers at night and be thankful for all your many blessings.
But when things aren’t going your way, never forget that God knows what is best for you and everything will work out in the end.

The best legacy children can receive from parents is faith.

The following is a love song to share, it's not a hymn, as I prepared for the sharing, and I found something that is interesting. The vocalist was born 59 years today, and my younger son's birthday is today too. And mostly, I'm hoping we all can fall in love with our God forevermore, we not just give Him our physical hands but our whole lives, everything onto Him.

Andrea Bocelli, is an Italian classical crossover tenor, recording artist, and singer-songwriter. Born with poor eyesight, Bocelli became permanently blind at the age of 12, following a football accident.

One time my son asked me this tough question. Did God ever do bad things?
Is it in our eyes or in the God's eyes?

Let’s take a quick look at these five books, starting from the book of Job, a God-fearing man who experiences terrible trials and sufferings, and calls out to God for an explanation. Job's three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar (以利法、 比勒達和瑣法), came to comfort him and end up judging Job in the eyes of human beings. Elihu (以利戶) was watching and hearing their dispute, finally opened his mouth and said something that reminded Job about God. We can only find finds solace in God’s presence. The conversation between job and God were written in Job 38 - 42.
Job 約伯記 42:7-17.

Psalm, a collection of prayers, songs, and poetry, many of them were written by King David. A book is full of humans' emotions, praise, doubt, repentance, joy and the like. One the famous one is psalm 23, later we'll again, sing, memorize and exercise along with it.

King David's son, Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.

And then Proverbs, in Proverbs 1:7 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Ecclesiastes beginning with in 1:2 “Vanity of vanities,” saith the Preacher. “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” that sometimes feels our lives are fatalistic and cynical.

Nevertheless, its message is ultimately the positive one that living in obedience to God provides grounding for human life.

Song of Songs is a poem about marriage, the love and etc. Many Christians also find in it an allegorical message about the love of Christ for His church.

“It is not the length of life, but the depth of life,” Todd Weaver's father stated, quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson as he reflected on his son’s accomplishments at his funeral.
