列王紀上 1 Kings 15:3

亞比央行他父親在他以前所行的一切惡，他的心不像他祖大衛的心，誠誠實實地順服耶和華他的神。

申命記 Deuteronomy 4:9-10

9「你只要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得你一生這事離開你的心，總要傳給你的子子孫孫。 10 你在何烈山站在耶和華你神面前的那日，耶和華對我說：『你為我招聚百姓，我要叫他們聽見我的話，使他們存活在世的日子，可以學習敬畏我，又可以教訓兒女這樣行。』

9 “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children—10 how on the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord Said  to me, ‘Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’

6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

不忍用杖打兒子的，是恨惡他；疼愛兒子的，隨時管教。

Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

18 趁 有 指 望 ， 管 教 你 的 兒 子 ； 你 的 心 不 可 任 他 死 亡 19 暴 怒 的 人 必 受 刑 罰 ； 你 若 救 他 ， 必 須 再 救 。

18 Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death. 19 A man of great wrath will pay the penalty, for if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.

愚 蒙 迷 住 孩 童 的 心 ， 用 管 教 的 杖 可 以 遠 遠 趕 除 。

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

杖打和責備能加增智慧，放縱的兒子使母親羞愧。

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

你們做父親的，不要惹自己兒女生氣，而要照著主的訓練和警戒養育他們。

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

彼得前書 I Peter 4:8

最要緊的是：要持守彼此之間熱切的愛，因為愛能遮蓋眾多的罪孽

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's   womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

As a parent the best gift that we can give to our kid(s), the love, blessings and faith from God.
