There’s a saying, don’t judge a book by its cover. That’s very right.

But what if we found that what you see on the outside is different than on the inside. For example, a very devotional Christian, on the outside he/she is very well behaved at any church occasion, knowing all the scriptures inside and out but inside his/her heart is ugly. That’s how it sometimes hinders people to get close to God.
